Lancashire Clubs vote to leave RFU leagues
« on: May 04, 2018, 12:24:12 AM »

It looks like some Lancashire clubs are going to leave the RFU structure. Fair play to them. Some things need to change and I’m happy to see that clubs are voting with their feet.

I can already hear the cries of disdain and disagreement...

I’ll fasten my seatbelt as I bet I’ll be in the minority here!

The league structure west of the Pennines is not working and the club know it. Too many unequal one sided games so something needs to be done.

The problems go all the way to North One West where we had St Benedicts abandoning there league fixtures as they still had seven games to go in April. The only comment I’ve heard was that abandoning their league fixtures would all St Benedicts to start their pitch redevelopment planes earlier nothing about the effects on other clubs or the league.

The clubs in Lancashire have put proposals to RFU North in the past to reorganise the leagues and those proposals were ignored.

So it now looks like they want to force RFU Norths hand.
