Yorkshire 2 / Re: Week 3 Predictions / Banter
« on: September 19, 2021, 01:40:52 AM »
Hullensians deserved the 14-5 today.

Mistakes by both sides, and the game could of gone either way….the score doesn’t reflect the competitive game that was played.

Credit to Hullenisans. The hospitality was exemplary.

We’ve had a tough start to life in Yorkshire 2…. But we’ve now played 2 teams ( Keighley and Hullensians ) who dropped a division … and our other fixture was against Northallerton… a top of the table finishing team pre-COVID.

All I will say is, Yorkshire 2 is a very competitive league, but most importantly , more than anything… it’s great to be back playing competitive rugby… week in, week out… and seeing smiles on faces after an 18 month lay off.

Interesting season ahead… we all go again next week

Yours in rugby

Bradders is most definitely a veteran and can still make an impact and mix it  in Y1 at Salem for sure...best advice I could give to wibsey is don’t bring in rugby league lads and don’t spend pennies...
You’ve got a great set of lads who are fantastic players and you will go far.

DISCIPLINE was wibsey’s downfall last year.... if you keep 15 men on the pitch for the majority of next season, you’ll be one of the frontrunners for sure.

Bar the discipline last season you were one of the best teams in Y3.... sort that and your going places.

Wibsey have signed a couple of young lads from our RL side, a Jamaican RL international, a second team prop from a Halifax based club and a lad from Bradford uni.
We finished the season well but are definitely in need of one or two more if are going to compete at the top.

A Couple of players  have left, most noticeably veteran prop John Bradbury who returns to Bradford Salem. John still remains a friend of ours and we thank him for his service.

Yorkshire 3 / Re: Season Suspended
« on: March 16, 2020, 06:49:41 PM »
RFU statement:
Following government advice, the RFU will suspend all rugby activity in England, at both professional and community level.

Rugby activity includes club training, league and cup matches plus rugby education courses from 17 March until 14 April subject to continued review.

The decision has been taken following government advice in the interests of players, coaches, referees, volunteers, supporters and the wider rugby union community.

Where possible, players at all levels are encouraged to maintain their own personal fitness and keep active during this time, while following government guidelines about safe distance and safe exercise environments.

The RFU will continue to review and monitor government advice and will provide detailed updates on the impact to the season in the coming weeks.

We’re already onto the 9th May with games to be played... this suspension would mean the season finishing Saturday 6th June if it was to resume on the weekend of 18th April .

Can’t see that happening.

It’s been a blinder gents 👍

I can't believe you'd sully Luciana's good name Faffde! I think it's pretty clear for all to see that Knottingley would have staged a late comeback in the league and won it by miles so the only reasonable thing to do is present us with the Yorkshire 3 trophy after this all blows over. Everyone in Knottingley is also immune to Coronavirus due to it being scared of coming to Knottingley, so we're safe.

Love it 👍👍🤣

Whatever happens is now in the hands of the RFU.
It’s been an enjoyable one if it does get pulled

Post on another division forum claiming the two games postponed in Y3 was due to quarantined players, can anyone confirm from any of these clubs? Either way I think the season is done, all that remains to be seen is how the promotion/relegation scenarios are played out.

This is true, baildon game called off due to a skipton player in quarantine.
Best option would be to finish the league, even if it runs into June.... and possible delay start of next season to the 1st October.... maybe scrap the cup for 1 season.
Surely league fixtures mean more than the cup, it’s what we play for all season

I think grottingley would be better placed to make the step up .... baildon would need to splash even more cash and buy a decent pack , it got smashed all over the pitch by wibsey's, not sure what the backs are like as the 10 doesn't like passing it's out wide

Funny that ‘too old too slow’.
I seem to recall we beat you 38-18 on your own patch.... oh and also beat you 22-17 at our place.

Plus you have at least 6 lads from Salem playing for you. There not going to drop down to Y3 from Y1 for the fun of it. I smell hypocrisy a little 🤣🤣.

Oh and you’ve either been eating Sour Grapes or a $hit Sandwich.

Back to the cheque book for you men next season.

Alt’ Best x

Aireborough v SKIPTON - results will come for skip soon, they just need their luck to change which will be soon!
Baildon v Sheffield Medicals - close one this week and no comment !
Castleford v KNOTTLA - derby of the weekend - the worms are too strong for Ca$ Vegas
HALIFAX VANDALS v Rotherham Phoenix - vandals on home turf , not a nice place to travel... especially 40+ miles of travel
Harrogate pythons vs LEEDS CORINTHIANS - never say die spirit will take this
Hemsworth v OSSETT - less than 20 miles to travel so will go in force
Wibsey v OLD OTLIENSIANS - too strong for Wibsey I’m afraid

Baildon 21 - 20 Corinthians
What a game, 2 very evenly matched sides with lots of sloppy errors from both teams.
The result could of been so much different...
Corinthians ‘last play of the game’ try was followed by their kicker hitting the post to deny Corinthians the victory and on the flip side, keep baildon’s fortress ( both 1st XV and 2 XV - intact )
Best of luck to an extremely good Corinthians side, who will no doubt be pushing all season

Yorkshire 3 / Re: Baildon to push for promotion?
« on: October 20, 2019, 06:41:02 PM »
With Baildon picking up some decent results lately? Do people reckon they are promotion contenders? I follow them on Facebook and whoever runs the site clearly has a lot of time on their hands, they need to give Beachy some tips on how to put so much s**** on a page. Is there many Baildon lads on here? What is your opinion on challenging.

Remember lads only ‘banter’ and abit of ‘willy swinging’.

🐛🐛🐛

We are doing well at the minute but look at the results yesterday . Y3 is exceptionally competitive and it will be very tight all season.
We’ve gone from bottom league fodder to a competitive side so we are keeping very grounded at the minute and taking it week by week.

Hemsworth 19 baildon 5
Seems baildon lacked some strength in depth as they may have been missing half the team but couldn’t rise to the occasion.

Although we had 10 unavailabilities from last week, you cannot take anything  away from Hemsworth today, they deserved the win .

They had the desire, mind set and togetherness to turn us over and they did so with ease.

We were extremely poor, and you cannot afford to had a poor performance in this league because every single team in Y3 are more than capable of performing and winning with the right attitude, and that’s what hemsworth did today...

Fantastic hospitality after the game, and the nicest thing is they are a family club .... players, wives , kids and pets all in the club after the game, and everyone with smiles on faces... that’s what this game is all about.

We will be back training on Tuesday and working in what went wrong this week.... and we will go again on Saturday...
as previously mentioned , hats off to Hemsworth , and I’m sure if they play like they did today, they will start to move up the league..

we wish you well for the rest of the season and look forward to the reverse fixture !

I understand you all love a good bit of gossip, but to ensure that the facts are laid out, then you can still make up your own stories, I have only ever been a part time coach and a limited sponsor, who when the lads won bought a few pints, this season I have not had a chance to get down to the mighty worms, and the Team has no player who is paid to play, not by me or anyone, there recent success is TOTALY down to Stanny and his coaching team, and the Team Spirit within, and when I do get the chance to watch them, if they win and want a beer it will be a pleasure to buy them one or two. Please respect the fact that this recent success is actually down to bloody hard work from people who give their time for free.

Your success is down to a close knit set of lads who play rugby week in week out with their mates... money doesn’t buy success and nor will it ever....sorry to name drop but look at Bradford and bingley ( when they reached their prime ) / cas Vegas ( 8/9 years ago ) / Wath upon dearne  ( national cup finalists ) and many more clubs over the years ... once the purse gets shut and the money dries up reality finally hits home.....
seems like you have it together more than ever at the ‘the worm farm’ at the moment and your doing it the right way....

Your results since January 2019 are incredible and you are the Pace setters this season for sure

Aireborough 13 - 41 Baildon
Castleford 7 - 13 Harrogate Pythons
Hemsworth 17 - 26 Halifax Vandals
Leeds Corinthians 40 - 3 Sheffield Medicals
Old Otliensians 34 - 12 Rotherham Phoenix
Ossett 10 - 46 Knottingley
Skipton 19 - 17 Wibsey

The aireborough / Baildon score today doesn’t do Aireborough justice...
baildon made the most of the chances given and aireborough didn’t... that was the only difference in a thoroughly enjoyable derby game!
Spoke to a lot of the Aire team after the game, some who I have known for years... and they explained their current situation...with 8/9 players calling rugby a day just before the season started.... and not much prior warning...which has left them a bit short.
They are a great set of lads and 65 minutes through their was only 5 points between us!
They will come strong very soon and mark my words they will come good this season... pure and simple they have the desire to succeed and they play for each other!
Looking forward to the return fixture and we wish you all the best for the rest of the season!
