Yorkshire 3 / Re: Prediction for league title.

Everyone had vandals marked to go straight back up last season. That didn't pan out too well. Consistency is all. If you're near the top by Jan that's when it starts to get serious. Luck with injuries helps too. some of the top teams being mentioned here will hit a patch with players unavailable. Wensleydale won the league with no stand outs. Just an established game plan, club vision and luck with injuries.

So I'm not gonna try predicting this year as its going to be tighter than ever. Boring I know, but too hard to call.

Best Forwards?

Best forwards we played against were Thorne. Solid 1-8 without a weak link. Not many stood up to our scrum but they did.

Best Backs?

Wensleydale. Use their Ground really well. Use the uphill to their advantage, clean and barely dropped a ball in both games we played.

Stand out Game?

For me it was beating Corinthians at home. They were 4th at the time (I think) and we (as is well documented on here) haven't played our best rugby this season. Proved we can still mix it when we have a full squad.

Top D*** of the Day candidates?

Me. In the most blatant 'prop can't keep up with a back so just trip him up' at Wensleydale.
Surprise package?

Again I'm going to say Corinthians. First season back in Y3. Hard and niggly as hell. But its worked for them and the table doesn't lie they've had a good season.

Mods. Sorry to see you go out this season gents, good club. With the amount of close results you've had I can see you coming straight back up.

Predictions on Next Season?

Looks like Otliensains are back to 3 next season. They're always solid and could push for promotion again. From the teams in this league I can't look past Thorne. Will see how they do in the coming weeks as they may go up this season. But if they don't manage it they will be favourites next season.

Lastly well done to Wensleydale. Great club, good set of boys. Done everything the right way and are reaping the rewards. Good luck for next season all!

Nothing wrong with 5 subs IMO. You don't have to take them and strip your second team. But if you have the numbers use them and keep your front row fresh. 80mins on front rowers especially can be tough. Don't really understand the three sub rule when leagues above and below are allowed more.

Tight affair on Mount Doom today. Very stop start and mistakes on both sides. The worms did enough to win it and well done to them.
Won’t say anything about the ref today, for both sides. But count that silence as deafening.

Castleford v Harrogate Pythons - Pythons to have just enough even away from home.

Knottingley v Wensleydale - Worms will be up for this at home and the crowd down there will let the cheese rollers have it. But Wensleydale are top for a reason, proper solid 1-15. I feel it's their season to shine.

Leeds Corinthians v Halifax Vandals - No comment

Leeds Modernians v Rotherham Phoenix - Rotherham were not the team from the start of the season last week. But I feel they have enough to beat Mods.

Sheffield Medicals v Baildon

Skipton v Hemsworth

Thornensians v Aireborough

Halifax Vandals v Rotherham Phoenix - Got to back ourselves.
Leeds Corinthians v Castleford. Tight week for decisions. Going for a home win here.
Sheffield Medics v Skipton. Meds just though if Skipton manage to play a bit more expansively it could be a different story. P&Ging for 80mins won't do them any favours.
Wensleydale v Harrogate Pythons - Game of the wkend. Home advantage to see them through and also decide first and second in the title race IMO.

Good day for us yesterday. Couldn't get worse than last week and we picked up our game all over the park with a few numbers returning to the starting 15. Bit annoyed to let Skip in in the last play of the game. But if that's all we can complain about it then it was a much improved day at the office.
