I have just been informed from my man on the ground that the accurate reason for the Ponte v Scabs game being played is:

A Y1 CLUB HAS BEEN ALLEGEDLY BEEN PLAYING UNREGISTERED PLAYERS UNDER INCORRECT NAMES (i.e. the names of registered players) AND AN INVESTIGATION IS UNDER WAY!!!!

I know who the alleged team is but to avoid any hissie fits I wont post who (yet). But so that our friends from 'ull and 'eath can sleep easy I am happy to say the club I have been told is not either of them...  (you can post again now NPS)

[Note: none of the posts made by me on this subject have been a wind up they are all based on what has been said so far...]

Well, if it's within 20 points of Ponte, and it's not 'Ull or 'Eaf or, by definition, Ponte, then it can only be Swans, Brid or Ribb.
Now then, which.........

Deffo not us equestrian one. We made our error. Took our medicine and got extra large spades to extract ourselves from the oversight. There that narrows it a bit.

Can't see it being the swans as they didn't improve their form in the latter part of the season. Now who does that leave"????????

Actually if Ponte were to beat Scarbs or get only two, points and get to 40. That would mean that any side with a 20 point deduction from Below Scarbs downwards would infact be below Ponte and as such in the drop zone. Interesting to say the least.
PS any word on the playoffs.

Well, Ponte beat Scabs, which brings Yarns and B@*#!x's into the equation.

Ponte 20pts - 12pts Scabs (RFU web-site)
Also Malton lost to Morpeth in play-off 11pts to 14pts so Malton - at the moment - still in Y.1 next year

That means that everyone below Scarbs are in danger if a 20 deduction is handed out. That could include the Brods resurgents. Possibly less derbies in the Halifax area than some were anticipating if that is the case. Pure speculation at this point but the Ponte result brings everyone below Scarbs into play!!!!
Including Ribb resurgents but we are now squeaky clean.
So who is under investigation????

If this is the case and obviously deliberate then the 20 points being bandied around could be more. It could mean a removal from the league. The reason the game between pont and scabs was played would be to give the rfu all options and it would be unfair not to give pontefract the best chance of staying up.

It certainly seems that it is something serious...requiring all the games to be played takes away any grey areas and confusion.

I think this one is going to be a biggy....

Most definitely this is like our governments both  past and present. Subterfuge, lies and misrepresentation, even bigger than the duck pond scandal.

I can def rule Brods out. I'm the coach and can assure you all that registration lists are always kept up to date and players have always played under their own name
