Promotions and Relegations - halfway predictions.
« on: December 10, 2015, 05:54:55 PM »
Halfway through the season.

Can anyone beat Wetherby?
Can Thorne go all season without a red?
Will Northallerton ever learn to travel?
Will the rain carry on and make it hard for Pythons?
Can Aireborough carry on their run of form?
Will Rotherham win?
Does anyone actually like playing at Stocksbridge - even the stocksbridge players?????

Lots of questions but what are your answers - who will be promoted/relegated?
Yes, my scrum cap is wee coloured...

Wetherby and Thorne to go up for me. I can really see Goole having problems with their pack as the bad weather continues and North can't travel.
Going down is a close one - big battle ahead. If weather persists I can see Harrogate joining Rotherham, if it dries out I think Aireborough won't pick up those vital boggy points at home. All I know is might Baildon will finish comfortable mid-table.

For me, the two best teams are Wetherby and Thorne so hope they will win promotion. Goole have some great backs but their pack are not very strong so I expect they will have more losses during the bad weather (based on when we played them.)

To go down, I would say Rotherham have a mountain to climb and will be joined by Baildon or Halifax.

Pythons are not too concerned with our current position, despite a poor performance on Saturday. 9 of our remaining 15 games are at home so I expect us to start climbing towards mid table shortly - if the pitch ever dries out enough to play...

Thorne could possibly beat Wetherby, but they'll get a red at some point I reckon

Tough to see past Weth and Thorne for top 2 - had been favoring Goole at start of season based on suspended points deduction for Thorne which they seem to be more likely than not to avoid combined with their previous away form. Also think the Goole team will actually benefit from anouther season in 3 were as a young side they can continue to improve and look at going up next year with a much better chance of holding their own in Y2 (a lot better then going up this year and coming straight back down).

For the drop just seems a question of if it will be Aireborough or Baildon that join Rotherham in Y4. You cant put a fag paper between these 2 sides at the moment and i cant see there being much in it by end of season. The next game between these 2 will be massive for both but if it comes down to the very last week then Baildon have the easiest game that week so purely on that alone i will go for Aireborough to join Roth.

Have you got a plush cushion for Ilkely's bench, Dench? If not, can I recommend IKEA? Nice designs and affordable!

Yes lost Dench and Nathan last year. To be fair Nathan is still around for the odd game just working in London, a bit unfit at the moment though. 2 big losses, Nathan was by far and away our best player and for all Denchs faults he can bloody finish.

I'd say moving from starting with the U8s to sitting on their bench is not progress. It's regression
