Round 4
Alnwick vs Kendal
Can only see Alnwick continuing with the fantastic start to the season with this one.
Alnwick Win
Cleckheaton vs Harrogate
Can only see Cleckheaton continuing the less the fantastic start to the season with this one.
Harrogate Win
(That being said Cleck have for many years been the team to pull off some unpredictable results)
Middlesbrough vs Ilkley
Another side with a fantastic start to season and imagine Ilkley will be really happy with the new season so far. If Middlesbrough have the 10 back playing then at home they could really test Ilkley. If not then Ilkley could run riot.
Either way Ilkley Win
Penrith Vs Heath
If it's a dry day then Heath will have to much for Penrith. If the rain is looting then this could be a battle of the boot and which forward pack can defend the tight ball carriers better.
Heath Win
Sandal Vs York
Well someone should be kick starting the season this week, and both teams targeting a big win here. Home advantage should give Sandal a boost, and the Scarborough victory might be what York needs to kick starting the season. So let's go unconventional
Draw
Blaydon vs Driffield
From how the league is currently standing Blaydon have had a much tough start to the campaign then Driffield, with 2 defeats on the road. The plastic pitch always plays its part, as I imagine the banned DMP backrow could do as well.
Never back against your own.
Driffield Win
Alnwick v Kendal. A to win
Cleck v Harrogate. Surely H continue their winning ways.
M'boro v Ilkley. Ilkley seem to be going well and will continue this week.. A long time since I have seen M, but Ilkley on a roll.
Penrith v Heath. Believe P are big but Heath to win as they are a good all round team.
Sandal v York. It's about time Y got their act together and they did last week so an away win.
Blaydon v Driffield. I am worried about D because they are a very young side to take on B on the plastic pitch. D haven't yet got out their best side and it pains me to say that I fear an home win.
Having problems with the site this morning... well done to the Driff lads for getting things moving.
Alnwick v Kendal - I hope Kendal enjoy the drive over. Can't see them getting anything here. Home win.
Blaydon v Driffield - regrettably, I think the Plastics will pinch this one. Sorry, lads.
Cleck v Harrogate - can't see anything past an away win here.
'Borough v Ilkley - not supremely confident, but Ilkley's experience to make the difference.
Penrith v Heath - someone has to lose their unbeaten record. Hmm - Heath to squeak past.
Sandal v York - and someone has to register a win. York - just.
Alnwick v Kendal
Think home advantage here will be key, Alnwick win
Cleckheaton v Harrogate
Cleck look a shadow of them former selves, Harrogate started season ok, Harrogate win.
Middlesbrough v Ilkley
Predicting a close Ilkley win but will not be easy.
Sandal v York
Both had pretty poor starts to the season but got a feeling York will just edge this one.
Blaydon v Driffield
Blaydon a different beast at home on the plastic pitch and expect them to win comfortably here.
Penrith v Heath
Both teams started the season well but predicting a Heath win as they are my favourites to win this league.
Alnwick v Kendal - Alnwick win
Cleckheaton v Harrogate - Harrogate win
Middlesbrough v Ilkley - Middlesbrough win
Sandal v York - York win
Blaydon v Driffield - Driffield win
Penrith v Heath - Heath win
Alnwick v Kendal
Alnwick to win this by a lot. I think they'll have the edge in all set piece. Kendal to leave with no points.
Alnwick
Cleck v Harrogate
Cleckheaton to scrape a win here. Harrogate not what they once were.
Cleckheaton
Middlesbrough v Ilkley
Ilkley to cause Middlesbrough a lot of problems, but I want to say Middlesbrough to take the win here. Can see Boro outscoring Ilkley but they will keep it close with the 3 pointers.
Middlesbrough
Penrith v Heath
Heath to put a lot of points past Penrith on the plastic. Big pack and slick backs.
Heath
Sandal v York
Close game with Sandal scoring a few trys from mauls. I see York's mercenary back row has played one game and gone back to Hull... But they should get the win here or a draw?
York/draw
Blaydon v Driffield.
Driffleid seem to be missing a lot of players. Blaydon on the plastic should score a lot of points and by the looks of their team sheet the player mentioned didn't get a ban.
Blaydon
Some interesting results today. It appears that Penrith scored 36 points against Heath without getting a try bonus. That's a lot of penalties !
EDIT - my mistake - they actually scored six tries !
Sandal finally get a win and York have yet to get a point.
Business as usual for Harrogate and Alnwick, though not by a lot.
Ilkley hit top gear at Boro, despite conceding first.
Blaydon's plastic must have been the decisive factor in beating Driff.
Blaydon deserved winner in a game which felt like it could go either way in the first half.
Blaydon No.8 showing why he up there in the try scoring charts with 4 tries today showing all his experience from higher levels.
Both sides made mistakes in the windy conditions, but Blaydon having abit more ball carrying fire power to get the job done.
From a Driffield perspective a 17 year old and 2 18 year olds in the squad, 2 making League debuts and 6 others under the age of 23 is showing plenty of promise, but at times today potentially lacked the experience to play the conditions.
But the experience will come, the quality is already there.
Not the result they wanted and disappointing to not get the try bonus point at the end but some really exciting times to come for the young Woldsmen
DAA got any updates on York? They appear to have a number of players out injured, unavailable or something else going on in the background?
The Journey man who played the first game for York getting MOM for Hull yesterday.
All very quiet in the review point. But good result for Sandal either way.
Ilkley and Alnwick having a brilliant start to the season. But think Heath are going to take some stopping this year.
Heath seem to be scoring a lot of points. Not sure they've had a real test yet. But if they're scoring upwards of 40 points a game, they won't lose many!
Didn't see York losing but after watching the highlights of the game. York seem weak in comparison to recent years. A lot of players missing.
Tough trip for Driffield to come away without any bonus points. But a worthy fight considering the youth playing.
Alnwick and Ilkley also undefeated
Can't see Ilkley staying that way after October, with some difficult games ahead. Alnwick vs Harrogate next week will give an indication of which of those will be up there this season.

Their 2nds are 213 pts for and 5 against in 4 games.... :o :o Love a try or two that club!
Look like they have built a very strong 2s team which is what I think they had been missing in previous years for a sustained title push.
Think they might be disappointed they dropped the 2s out of the Yorkshire Prem now looking at the results.

no doubt they will all be paid as well Differ lad?
No rumours coming out of Calderdale of Heath paying 2nd team players, so unfortunately I'm not able to poke that bear. Just the signing of a good local coach with links to local clubs and youth development. That was a very shrewd signing thats managed to attract plenty of local talent and built some additional depth.

Cheeseys phone has ran out of space the amount of contacts he has stored.... No payment there, but a bunch of talented hungry local lads scrapping to get a shot at 1sts...
