Title: Fixtures 3.1.26
Post by: gateprop on Jan 02, 2026, 10:45 PM
Not gone for predictions as expecting mass call offs due to frozen pitches. Keighley v Pythons should be on though as it's a 4G pitch. Wasn't called off 2 years ago when it was minus 5 and snowing so don't expect it to be tomorrow either.

Yarnbury v Hullensians have reversed the fixture so their game is on - 3pm KO

Leos v Wath - off
West Leeds v Beverley - off
Goole v Old Rish - off
Dinnington v Wensleydale - off

Tough result in the end with Pythons edging the first half and going 19-10 up early in the second. After that though Keighley turned up the intensity to a level where Pythons couldn't follow, scoring 5 tries to run out 43-19 winners. A closer game than the scoreline suggests but highlights the difference when you finish the game strongly and convert your scoring opportunities.

Concensus on the touchline was you threw it away. You seemed to be well in control at half time.

I agree to a certain extent. We stopped going through the phases, tried to play in the wrong areas and shovelled a lot of shit. Got to give credit to Keighley though, they forced panic by upping the intensity. They utilised their latch and offload game incredibly well and, once they got their noses in front, their heads were up and ours were down. Injuries on the day meant we couldn't change things from the bench and we ran out of steam just as Keighley got on a roll.
