Down at Pythons today it was a proper game of 2 halves. After a very early try from West Leeds, Pythons got on a roll and put in a dominant performance to go in 19-5 at the break. An early penalty extended that to 22-5 but some basic errors gave West Leeds the field position to strike back quickly. From then on it was one way traffic with WL pinning Pythons back in their own half. WL will claim aggressive D and great game management, Pythons will claim unforced errors and poor game management. Either way WL finally forced their way over to take a 24-22 lead with 3 minutes to go. Following the kick off West Leeds came up with a coach killing penalty on half way that allowed Pythons possession deep in their half and, from that platform, Pythons went through the phases well to eventually draw a match winning penalty 10m out right in front of the sticks. It was a game both sides would have been fuming to lose. For pythons it was great to keep up our home record after a couple of disappointing results on the road.
