Huddersfield Laund Hill v Northallerton - HLH -7
Old Otliensians v Roundhegians - OO -7
Baildon v Halifax - Baildon +7
B&B v BP- a few weeks back I'd have said a Bradford decimation of Bramley but after some of the bees recent results I'm really not sure, with it being at home think the bees will win but will be close. B&B +7
Brid v Ripon- Ripon have done it once this season and with last weeks result still fresh for them could see them edging this on the east coast. Ripon -7
HV v ossett- both teams just playing for pride but can't see ossett making it a worthwhile trip to fax. HV +7
HLH v Northallerton- HLH will want to put last weeks drubbing behind them with a merciless victory at the expense of Northallerton. HLH +7
OOs v hegians- either the game that virtually officially seals the title for the hosts or keeps hegians in the promotion race to the final day, keep it interesting for the final day of the season hegians to come out firing and get the bp win. Hegians +7
Baildon v fax- if the fax can pull off a miracle and Northallerton fail at Huddersfield it goes down to the final day, same spirit as hegians otley keep it interesting with a fax 5 pointer, fax +7
Bradford & Bingley v Bramley Phoenix The Bees have all gone now and BP are rising from the ashes BP+7
Bridlington v Ripon Do us all a favour Ripon and bring the pain Ripon +7
Halifax Vandals v Ossett Would not of thought a couple of weeks ago, but after last week Ossett +7
Huddersfield Laund Hill v Northallerton This again was unthinkable recently, but North -7
Old Otliensians v Roundhegians It was a draw earlier in the season, this time I'm thinking Hegians to edge it -7
Baildon v Halifax Thinking Fax have fielded the same team two weeks running, so if they make it 3 then Fax+7
Good luck to all, maybe OO will make it three promotions in three years this weekend? Maybe....

Huddersfield Laund Hill v Northallerton HLH -7
Old Otliensians v Roundhegians - OO+7
Baildon v Halifax - Baildon +7
Broke & Busted v Big Apples: Think the Bees will have just enough to see this through and the "corner crew" will be worth a couple of extra points. B&B -7
Fishermen's Friends v Rugrats: Can the kids control their excitement at a day at the seaside and apply themselves to a seventh win on the trot? Technically yes and purely dependent on Ripon's selection and what can be made of home advantage. Go big or go home, Ripon +7
Hooligans v Wakey wind ups: No charity or comfort up on Mount Doom. Don't expect Ossett to give up without a fight but odds against anything other than a home five pointer. HV +7
Laundromats v Old Farmers: Another selection depending outcome. If HLH get back to full strength, can combat the one-directional North. A big if... HLH -7
Champions elect (or are they?) v Snoozers: Got to be match of the day, with both sides looking to run amok. I fancy Hegians to enjoy the occasion more +7
Ca$h Cow$ v Filofax: Think Baildon can only get better than recent form suggests and Fax run out of luck now. Baildon +7
Bees v Bramley Phoenix- genuinely think Bramley can pull this off after last week and the home fixture. This means a lot to the Bramley massive don't think will travel lightly, team or supporters Bramley-7
Brid v Ripon Brid at homecare no mean feat and victory possibly means a step nearer yorkshire 1 or what ever they are going to çall it !
Vandals v Ossett Vandals +7
HLH v Northallerton long way to go for Northallerton HLH +7
Otliensians v Roundheigns game of the season for both sides. Can Ensians stop the heigns momentum? Iam saying yes as I Otliensians will be champs
Baildon v Halifax- up and down you go another nail here for Fax, to what ever division they call it next season with what ever format.
:-X
Are we having two Yorkshire 1 Leagues next season? Where is Yorkshire 4 going? Anybody now any facts? :(
Really does depend on how many clubs actually enter their second teams into the Pyramid. Despite being told by our county officials that 36 clubs wanted lower teams in the system. If what we are told is true (I personally doubt it very much) then below Yorkshire three (as it currently stands) there will be 30 new entrants which means I suppose enough to expand and keep a regionalised Y4 and create a Y5 North and South.
The powers that be have committed to informing people by the end of this month. That gives us the prospect of some real mis-matches. No offence intended but possibly a semi pro Harrogate seconds playing, lets say Thirsk and/or Knaresborough in a regionalised division. Very unpalatable for some clubs I think. On top of that bigger clubs who do not currently have a second team (example) Otley and Hull, are I believe recruiting second team squads and as they currently do not play in the system will have to start at the bottom. So you may get semi pro players rampaging against local social players. If world rugby think they have a problem with the head injury case. I wonder what the YRFU will say when some young local player gets smashed by a giant semi pro. What will their defence be for the carnage they are creating.
WATCH THIS SPACE.
Care to make any predictions while you're on here Flaggy? We've missed you. ;)

Cheers Flaggy, I will be accompanying our 1st XV squad to Brightlington on Sea tomorrow and staying with a few interested parties to enjoy the cultural mores of Scarbados for the night. So sorry, I will miss the chance for you to put your hand in your pocket.
I expect that our respective 2nd XVs will have a good tussle as usual and that rugby is the winner.
Best wishes for the end of this season and next - onwards and upwards and who knows... maybe the chance to play in Yorkshire again?

Roundhegians pooping the promotion party at Otliensians and making it three-way final round fight. You'd expect Otliensians and Brid to still be favourites against Vandals (H) and Northallerton (A) respectively but certainly keeps things interesting!
Ripon started slowly against a strong and well-drilled Brid on Saturday and gradually eased their way in for a 15 - 12 half time deficit. With a couple of key positions lacking their normal personnel, Ripon struggled to use their copious possession well and despite Brid conceding over twice as many penalties and suffering a yellow card; couldn't turn what pressure they could muster into points. A stronger second half gave Brid a commanding lead and the try bonus point was inevitable. Congratulations to Brid on promotion, looking well and truly like a Y1 club and should thrive again up there.

The changes "they" are trying to push through seems counter intuitive to promoting grass roots rugby and keeping the smaller teams viable.
OO Vs Hegians was a strange game to witness. OO plauged with a few injuries after the Ossett game.
Both teams putting everything into the defensive aspect, a very physical emotional game, which unfortunately was certainly brought down to a very slow level due to the man in the middle. It had everything to be a fast open game. but it just wasn't allowed at all- He struggled to keep up with as everyone can imagine, the fastest game in the league.
Red Card for Hegians prop after a very gormless spear tackle on the fly half, which then lead to Roundhegians going to an uncontested scrum. Unfortunately the man in the middle did not implement the rule where Hegians had to drop a man as they were no longer able to contest in the scrums, which ended up being a major factor in the game - as this gave them a free uncontested platform to work off. In the defensive, they just dropped their 9 into the back line.
OO could have taken more chances, and the two chances that Hegians got, they took. 2 tries held up for OO, but the man in the middle was not really keeping up with play.
But to summarise, on the Day Hegians did what they needed to do to win and it paid off for them.
A very tight top 3, which is very exciting for the last game of the season.
Good Luck and what a great season for all!
A good summary - apart from the one major omission. at the time of the red card (also very good to see the OO player pass the medical checks and be able to continue playing for the remainder of the game) the other Hegians prop was injured and was replaced by the substitute front row player. therefore Hegians had to go to uncontested scrums and as per the regulations at this level they do not have to lose a player! The best team won on the day.

Where did you get that info in the regs about not having to play with a player down(ie 13)?

Mr Tank,
you are absolutely correct. It is imho a real shame that over half of the clubs in Yorkshire did not vote when the imposition will effect them the most. Apathy has never in my lifetime been a way forward for any amateur sporting organisation but who knows. I would be delighted to be proven wrong in, say, 10 years time. However I think not. Lets see. By then it maybe too late for the clubs that fail to survive.

Does this not have to be "game on" agreed at the start?
Seems there is no punishment for a Red Card otherwise.

Im a level 6 ref and the ref was right. They dont lose another player but both sides have to have 8 in the scrum. Gives the non offending team an advantage in the backs.
