Title: End of season run down
Post by: Grasser17 on Apr 26, 2026, 07:37 AM
Well that's the 25/26 season finally finished, the league table finished ;

Wheatley hills 87
Leeds Corinthians 84
West Park Leeds  70
Hemsworth 61
Rotherham 52
Skipton 46
Barnsley 43
Burley 42
Hornsea 32
Castleford 28
Thornensians 11

A big Congratulations to Wheatley Hills for winning the league and Corinthians for coming second i believe them 2 teams have being promoted but with rumours of the league structure changing who knows what's going to happen 🤷.

My personal team ratings for the season, it's only abit of fun so please don't get offended.

Wheatley Hills 9.5/10 - league champions for a reason, only lost twice this season one of which was to Thorne which I still can't work out how. I wouldn't be surprised if they're at the top of Yorkshire 2 next season.

Leeds Corinthians 9 - similar to Wheatley Hills but just not as strong on the road still deserving of the 2nd place though.

WPL 8 - just didn't have to muscle to match the top 2 for the majority of the season, also lost some games they should have really won. I'm sure next season they'll will be fighting for the top spot again.

Hemsworth 8 - after the disastrous season they had last year a 4th place finish can only be applauded.

Rotherham Phoenix 7 - they looked like promotion contenders till just after half way through the season but a poor second half of the season cost them a top 4 finish.

Skipton 7 - opposite to Phoenix, Skipton started the season very poor and looked like relegation contenders up to Christmas but they Turned it around in 2026 and finished a respectable 6th.

Barnsley 6.5 - got some good wins this season and finished strong with a good away win at Rotherham but for the catchment area they've they should be doing better then mid table in Yorkshire 3.

Burley 6.5 - score  a lot concede  a lot but what do you expect for a load of Uni lads. On their day they can give anyone a run for their money but 8th place feels right this season.

Hornsea 6 - their home form kept them in the league this season, obviously need to be better on the road in the coming seasons if they want to climb the leagues but at least they finished the season unlike last years other promoted team.

Castleford 5.5 - not much to say for these boys. Just need to do better for a team with the history and the players they have.

Thornensians 3 - started the season well with a few good wins including beating the league champions but then losing a few key players to local rivals and conceding a couple of games it's was going to be a long tough season. Are they Yorkshire 4 bound or have they survived the drop for a second consecutive season ?

Dearne Valley 0 - Dropping out the league deserves nothing other than a big fat 0. Rumoured to be promotion contenders at the start of the season soon faded, got a few wins mid season but when they prioritise the other code it was always going to be a challenge. Hopefully we'll see them back in the leagues sooner rather than later.

Roll on the 26/27 season.
