Despite best intentions, Ripon came a poor second to Y2 champions Dinnington yesterday. Outplayed everywhere and even though the first gave a glimmer of hole with Dinno leading 19 - 10 at half time, the hosts blew us away in the second half with better organisation, penetration and brilliant team play. It helps to have a chunky but mobile and skillful pack and the Dinno half backs were instrumental to make things happen. Home hospitality much appreciated thanks and infinitely better than last year when Ripon won there and it was a lot quieter. All the best for next season.
Full breakdown of prediction outcomes tomorrow.
Locked,
sorry we wont be seeing each other any time soon. When our 2s come to you in two weeks (on a bus trip after dropping the 1s at Cheeseland) I am away visiting family in Surbiton so will not make it. Wishing you personally all the best and for Ripon who after running us to a whisker at the end of last season have, I feel under achieved this year. Great club and I hope we can maintain fixtures going forward. Also please pass on my regards to the "Proud" man.
Question for anyone who might be in the know. If one of the scenarios occurs where 3 teams gets relegated from Yorkshire 1, will that mean 3 teams will then have to be relegated from Y2 or will they only promote 1 team from Y3?
Thanks Flaggy, appreciate your sentiments. This second half of the season hasn't really gone our way with a string of narrow defeats and then some personnel losses, we couldn't maintain any consistent form. Interesting to see how other clubs compare with these stats - Ripon has now used 47 players in 1st XV this season including four active Colts. Player changes per game has averaged 10 each week - a combination of recalls from unavailability and/or positional changes to accommodate others. Makes it very difficult to settle.
On Gaters' point, I reckon Avinastella will know the answer but recall circumstances when if three come down only one comes up?
I think if Pock keep winning (as I expect them to do) they will also go up and therefore only two will go down. Mr Stella knows the regs better than most so I will bow to his superior knowledge when he replies.
Locked out,
PLeased to meet you on Saturday, apologies we didnt get much chance to have a chat, I was rather busy.
