A great start to the 2nd teams being entered into the Yorkshire leagues
Strong start to the experiment from the YRFU. I wonder if Hudds 2s realise that the fixture scheduled at their place will now be reversed and that they need to travel to Ossett later in the year. I hope this isn't a sign of things to come. Good luck to the other teams this weekend
At Ponte we have entered a second team hoping a league and regular fixtures would galvanise the twos, a project that has been a struggle for many years, as with many clubs. The early signs are very good but there is no complacency. We are very confident we will, most importantly fulfil fixtures and secondly be competetive. For Huddersfield to cross off on match day one (and we all know the issues that arise) is a real disappointment to say the least.
Shocking result for Huddersfield 2s, although I'm sure Ossett will be delighted with the 5 points from what could have been a difficult game. The new coaching staff couldn't have asked for a better start.
That said, it doesn't exactly set a great precedent for the rest of the second teams heading into the league. After forcing a vote through, to then not fulfil a fixture in week one is, quite frankly, laughable.
If this is the standard we're setting from the outset, YRFU have got this terribly wrong.

Let's not let the grey clouds form to early...there is still plenty of second XVs ready for tomorrow. Huddersfield is a shock as they were strong last year only losing to Moortown.who will be an exciting prospect to watch this year!
