Locked Out

In testing weather conditions (for Ripon at least) the Rugrats, without any Fijian contingent managed to pull a five pointer out of the bag at Baildon yesterday. The hosts were lively in defence and broke out at pace on occasions but simply couldn't find the finishing needed to cross the Ripon line.

Ripon uncharacteristically bossed the scrums for a change and it was the front foot first phase possession that kept them in plentiful attacking positions. Baildon didn't manage to play the conditions and pitch as well as expected and when the wind, rain, hail and sleet all stopped in the second half, had no natural forces to help them.

Ripon happy with five points on the road and five wins on the trot now. No change to league places and that's unlikely based on current form of the top five teams. Be good to stay in the top half of the table to finish the season.
