I do agree it's fairly clear, if this weekend was a league weekend clubs wouldn't be giving walkovers for lack of front rows, holidays etc.

Clubs clearly have an interest in the competitions, that's why they have entered. Players clearly appear to have little desire for them

Scarborough lost to York. Hard entertaining close match until the last 15 minutes when disruption led to York pulling away.

A near full strength York deserved their win but the 5 colt debutants did brilliantly (well 4 as one debuted last week).

Good luck to York in the next match.

(I'm tempted to create a breakdown video so this forum can discuss the 30 - 5,ish, penalty count in Yorks favour. It was beyond ridiculous and by the end just comical. But hey ho, that's sport)
Loving all rugby but especially at grassroots level.

Lively game at Ribb today with lots of young talent on view from both teams. Ribb went into an early lead that they never relinquished. We kept going clear only for Ponte to score through their very competent backs several times. We were always in front and two late tries gave us a (I think) deserved 50 -32 victory. Fair play to Ponte for travelling and we wish them well for the rest of their season.
Seven tries to four tells the tale of our young backs having the upper hand on the scoring front. But I must say that the Ponte backs were extremely dangerous with the ball in hand.
Was great to meet old friends again instead of meeting new acquaintances (despite being made very welcome)as we are doing in the North West.
Vale of Lune next week followed by a trip to Waterloo. Who would have imagined that 20 years ago.
Good luck to all you Yorkshire clubs whilst we are in enforced exile.

I noticed York were missing quite a few players this week, they seem to be struggling with that this season.

I thought Scarborough might have won this fixture!

Like most sides Scarborough rested the bulk of the squad.

However York side similar to the one selected all season.

Morley v M&N was close for 60 minutes, Morley looked in control but struggled to turn all their pressure into points.

A couple of substitutions allowed Morley to straighten the line and the points started to flow.

The heads started to drop for the M&N lads and at the end of the game the scoreboard didn't reflect how well they played.

Come on Mr Roach. If it was a league game would you have given a walkover. I am only asking a simple question that others wont ask.

No, I highly doubt we would have.

Your hardly Jeremy Paxman, Flaggy others won't ask as the answer is obvious, of course the game wouldn't have been conceded had it been a league fixture, but rightly or wrongly a decision was made ;D
