Not much rugby on this weekend but one game that is taking place is the cup game between Maltby and Rowntrees, Maltby top and unbeaten in Y4 South and Rowntrees top and Unbeaten in Y4 North.
Rowntrees beat Maltby in last years Vase final 22-3 but Maltby look a stronger outfit this year and being at home I have them as favourites to win this one.
Surely this fixture will be a Y3 game next season.

What's the scene like in Yorkshire 4 this season ?
I don't really know much about any teams in either league apart from aireborough and Mods.

The Trees-Maltby game went to Extra Time in which Trees took it 16-13. Would expect a physical Maltby side to be in Y3 next season.

This week it was RI-Rowntrees. Trees saw several players back from the week before for what was undoubtedly one of the toughest asks of the season.

I think it would be fair to say neither team reached their own expected levels in attack, partially due to the outstanding defence from both sides across the full 80.

Trees followed a missed penalty by taking a late penalty to go in 3-0 up at HT. They then crossed wide with a missed conversion in a rare moment of space availability.

10 minutes to go saw 2 Trees Yellow cards and RI cross for a converted try to go within a point. Trees then holding on for a tight 8-7 win.

There is a long way to go yet.

Another huge battle for Trees this weekend. Heading to Thirsk with 9/10/15 succumbing to illness in the late build up.

Playing with what seemed like half a team out of position, a couple of missed penalties we're followed by Thirsk potting one to take a 3-0 lead into HT.

Defences we're generally outstanding from both sides with little quarter given. Trees finding the late breakthrough 5 minutes from time. This was followed by some resolute try line defence to take a 7-3, and arguably hardest earned, win of the season so far.
