I was away watching school rugby but watched the 2nd half of Scar v Ponte on VEO - nothing too spectacular to report.

Looked a fairly even C2NE match with Scarborough having a tad more firepower. Job done.
Loving all rugby but especially at grassroots level.

Crocadoodledo

Crocs 23 - 10 Moortown

BRB and Old timer called this one fairly accurately. Not the day for Moortowns back to get firing. Solid performance from crocs especially in the forwards and a fair result. No hostile atmosphere this week, I'm sure it'll be back to normal next sat.

Different story at the game. Poor 1st half from Scarborough who played the wrong tactics against a reasonable side with a 10 with a good boot.
We're really not good at playing sides when we are strong favourites, we seem to over elaborate and forget the basics.
Better second half with more control against a tiring side.
All to play for next week against Malton who had an unexpectedly good result today
When the second seal was opened another horse came out, a fairy red one. Its rider was given power to take the p*ss from the earth and to make men lay with each other. To him was given a large ego.

Can't argue much there Jim.

Thought Morley were very good today. First 20 killed it for Brod.
Morley Solid scrum, good carries, and some excellent kicks.

Brods showed some promise at points but not enough to secure a bonus point.

Results making this league a very entertaining one!!!

Quote from: Jim on Dec 06, 2025, 04:25 PMMorley 38 v 24 Old Brods.

Game was done and dusted inside 20 minutes.
The next 60 was all niggle with the finale being handbags at full time.

Morley out did Old Brods at their own game and Brods lacked a plan B.

Both teams stuck at but the game was one for the purists.

Pockroach

Off day for pock in the derby today and malton came out deserved winners in a scrappy game.

Hopefully we dont lose 3 in a row like Scarborough or else we might be losing top spot. If you told anyone at the start of the season from Pock you'd be top after playing half the season we'd be over the moon. No brown envelopes, just players playing for a small local town.

Myself and pocknroll have never mentioned we'd go unbeaten in this season as we saw how competitive it was last year. It's nice to see that we have rustled a few feathers and are in the minds of many of you though.

Just a side note, if you lot believe ruckit is from pock then ive got a 10 incher.

Totally agree Mr Roach. It really is surprising that our clubs both sit proudly top of their respective leagues after our promotions last  season, at half way. I didnt expect it as I am sure you didnt. Not sure if our teams are better than we think or that the teams we are playing are not as good as they think they are. The truth is probably somewhere in the middle with a lot of rugby still to be played. Despite making lots of new friends in the North West we relish the prospect of playing our "Yorkshire" friends again as soon as we are allowed to.
Good luck to all for Xmas.

How did Harvey get on for you yesterday Flaggy and has he signed permanently or just loan for injury cover? Interested to know how he's getting on as he trained with us for a couple of years making a couple of appearances before he went to Otley.

Ribbflagman

Played well despite not having met any of the lads before the game as he only signed on Thursday night. It was an attritional game in poor conditions hardly what he will have been used to. But he seems a good lad who I think will relish playing at Ribb. We are on a bit of a roll at the moment and despite a serious injury list seem to be able to keep winning most games that is keeping us near the summit of NW 2.
Dont know how long it will continue but we are enjoying life as a club at the moment.

Pumba

Crocs 23 - 10 Moortown

Tough game at Broomfield for town took a while to get into the game unfortunately and then we lost a centre to an ankle injury and then a second row to a ruptured patella tendon which is requiring surgery.

Fair play to crocs they were the better team and came away with the win.

Agreed Mr Roach, Malton deserved the win.

Cracking afternoon, big crowd, packed clubhouse, great atmosphere. Obviously disappointed with the result but that's rugby!

As you say, being top at the half way point, with a couple of games lost is a brilliant position to be in and one that I personally didn't expect at the start of the season, big push for the second half of the year now. If we do lose 3 on the bounce, then at least BRB can get the open top bus booked for the inevitable Scarborough, league trophy parade 😂

Jokes aside though, very competitive league and as many on here have already said, plenty of rugby still to play.

backrowbandit

All the buses have been pre-booked by Pock 😉🤭

😂 Pre-booked by a Mr. B.R. Bandit?
