A prosperous 2026 to all our contributers
I suppose the first two predictions should be:-
Will the weather relent in time for matches to happen? Both the plastic teams are away and the frost is in deep for the grass men.
The longish layoff may query players'fitness particularly after the festivities.
Harrogate v Cleckheaton. If the frost does come out, it's going to be heavy here and a home win seems inevitable. Harrogate no doubt will keep going, but another season at level 5 looks likely.
Heath v Sandal. Home win. Unless there is a freak result during the rest of the season, I think Heath will be promoted and will deserve it.
Ilkley v Middlesbrough. Another home win, to keep hopes alive at Ilkley.
Kendal v Alnwick. An away win, pretty certain.
York v Sandal. Now York have started their season, confidence will have grown and I expect a home win.
Driffield v Blaydon. It would be good to get a home win and maintain present place in league. As always it depends on availability and how Blaydon feel about travelling.

Tough week for sandal playing both heath and york

Happy New Year

Agreed the weather will play a part this weekend, and some games will no doubt be off

Harrogate vs Cleckheaton
If one side in the league is going to favour a heavy pitch it is Cleckheaton, however without Breakwell to kick them around the park it will be a big ask.
Harrogate Win

Heath vs Penrith
Penrith a slide down the table 7 loses on the bounce is not good form, and even if the break has reduced the injury list it won't be enough away at Heath.
Heath Win

Ilkley vs Middlesbrough
Ilkley will have been thankful for the Winter break to regroup. They should get back to winning ways, but an away win wouldn't shock me.
Ilkley Win

Kendal vs Alnwick
Imagine this game will go ahead if Kendal can use the 4g pitch. Alnwick to have to much for Kendal.
Alnwick Win

York vs Sandal
This game could have a big say in the relegation scrap. Sandal win could pull them up to 7th. York Win and the automatic relegation places are wide open.
Sandal Win

Driffield vs Blaydon
Well if the ground thaws it will certainly be soft, and a different game to the plastic pitch that Blaydon are accustomed to. Which I think gives Driffield the advantage.
Driffield Win

Pristine Shorts

All games off, so will post my forecast for the 24th.

So far, I'd go for - Driffield, Harrogate, Heath, Ilkley, Alnwick and Sandal.
