Dropped It

Well done to Ossett today. By far the better team.

We were awful. No aspect of the game today was good. No idea why or where that performance came from. Lots to sort out next week.

In predictions I said lots to be encouraged about over the past 6 weeks. Commentators curse.

We won't be that bad again this season.

HLH v roundhegians

A very comfortable win, HLH probably left a fair few points on the field.

The pack showed size and maturity, whilst the 2 wrecking ball centres caused havoc all around the pitch.

The set piece again causing issues for the opposition.

HLH shut them down most of the game with them scoring on the last play.

Another win another cup run

Locked Out

Ripon went over to Rochdale with an as usual, much changed side and came off second best to a very well-drilled Littleborough. The hosts played with a pace and intensity that stifled Ripon's potential attacking power and significantly challenged their defensive capability. Honours were even at the set piece, with Ripon gaining a significant but unproductive edge with with a ground-swallowing line out catch and drive. The points didn't however, follow up from the effort and it was the Littleborough style of play - pacey close support and timely offloading that won them the game. The home coach said pre-match, he selected a squad of 28 players at the start of the season, who could commit to training and playing every week. It showed how much consistency of selection and commitment from players pays off.

Ripon have used 44 players in the 1st XV squad so far this season, which bodes well for strength in depth, but little for consistency.

Congratulations to HLH and Northallerton for your wins. All the best for next rounds.

Big congratulations to Ossett for the win. Well done and a timely morale booster when all seems gloomy.
