Good win for Scarborough at Pock. That seems significant.

More on the match later...

Can we call Scarborough champions elect yet? Still a long way to go but looking a cut above the rest. Rest of the league all to play for. 9 points separating 2nd to 5th and 10 points between 6th and 11th.

BRB, the whoopometer at our club has broken. What's your email so I can send you the invoice for a new one? Is it graeme@srufc.co.uk?

All jokes aside, great advert for the league, top gameplay and a great crowd.

Yes I have to say a bit of whooping crept into the match today...🙇

Scarborough v Pocklington

Overall, the result probably reflects the game. You can see exactly why Pock are second in the table. They stayed in the fight and clawed their way back into it when Scabs were down to 13 men (and briefly 12), another five minutes at that point and the bonus point was starting to look very achievable for them.

From a Scarborough perspective, our defensive effort was strong in every way; at one point the blindside wing absolutely smashing Pock's 8 off the scrum which happened more than once. Pocks big No 5 ball carrier was chopped down repeatedly and didn't quite make the distance I suspect he normally does.

I was expecting big things from Pocks centre however he wasn't a huge threat as a runner. For me Scab's MOM was wing Joe Davies who had a quality game. Scabs's numerous big hits were definitely a crowd pleaser today with the Pock 10 at one point getting hit hard and IMHO showing signs of a head injury; hope he's okay!?

A funny moment for me in the game was when Pocks impressive scrum from a penalty lead to a Scarborough FR yellow card; Pock look like they would take the obvious and scrum again and indeed did to be told Scarborough had no more FR's and it went uncontested..... lesson learned there.

A proper contest and a good advert for the league today.

Additionally, it was refreshing that Pock did not charge for entry and I saved myself a few quid although you'll be pleased to know I did buy the equivalent in raffle tickets despite leaving at FT.

Er...Pock did charge for entry. I assume you went in the small gate from the road which wasn't staffed. As did we. However our group then walked over the fields to the carpark gate and paid our £5 entry.

We were thanked for our honesty - I pointed out I was aware how clubs rely on income (apparently Bradford S and Morley are charging £120 entry to cover their match day costs 🤭)

So you saved a few quid by being a tight git!!! 🤣

I walked right through the main car park gate 1 minute after kick off; there was not a sign of anyone looking for gate money. Hence my generous raffle ticket contribution.

I commend you on your integrity however.

Dirty Brods were well beaten in the end, they did give Selby a scare though to be fair

BigBadWolf69

Wetherby well beaten in the end by a well drilled Crocs side. It shows what happens when players all buy in, good turn around from their first 6 games.

Wetherby, struggled to get going in the 2nd half. With only 4 backs (9,10,11,15) they didn't find many opportunities to open Crocs up.

Some big games coming up over the next few weeks.

Dirty in what sense? Sexually, hygiene or physically?

A bit unfair on Brods, they didn't appear to be dirty to me and played hard and fair. They were in the referee's ear all game though and seemed to get the rub of the green far more than Selby.

I know its not for here , but over the Pennines the Lancs Cheshire and Scouser boys have no forum to speak of (how I miss  the banter) results yesterday went in our favour to leave us six clear in the equivalent league. Can anyone on here please advise on where(If successful) we will be placed next season. After a year "Across the other side" does anybody know if we will be transferred back across as Rochdale were last season.
Just asking as travel costs are crippling us this season.
