Quote from: Locked Out on Feb 06, 2026, 08:41 AMThings looking ok at Ripon so far but will inspect later. Need to give Bridlington plenty of notice if game in doubt though really could do with playing it - don't like delaying the agony any further!

Yeah nobody wants to be postponing games any further, I suppose it depends how bad it is, don't want to completely destroy the pitches for the rest of the season.

Baildon v Vandals - Vandals -7

Northallerton v HLH - HLH -7
A rearranged game and several missing for HLH, let's see if the kids can do a job.

Ripon v Brid - Ripon -7

Hegians v OO's - OO's +7

if the same team that played HLH is on the field then an easy win for OO's, I don't think hegians will benefit from this weather

Halifax v BP - Halifax -7

Game definitely ON

Dropped It

Baildon vs Van - cancelled for wet pitch. Apparently we offered another venue to get the game on and Baildon refused?

1. Is that story accurate?
2. Can a rearranged fixture that needs to get played, and a neutral venue offered be refused?

Ripon 32 - 5 Bridlington
Roundhegians 22 - 22 Old Otliensians

Big upset at Ripon, bet they wish they could play the top 2 every week!

Hard fought game at Northallerton, unfortunately we got the wrong end of the result.

HLH v North

The 16 men of HLH travelled up to North Yorkshire. With massive unavailability and late pull outs.

It was a good affair, bodies on the line, hard hits and up the jumper rugby, HLH missing a decent contingency of key players managed to score 2 quick tries playing down the hill, HLH had the upper hand in the scrum, however North utilised the ever reliant catch and drive scoring 2 tries off this.

in the last 20 minutes it was you score we score with north winning with 5 minutes to go, HLH managed to score in the far corner with 2 minutes to go with an excellent conversion to go with it to put HLH up by 2 with 4 minutes to go.

HLH caught the kick off. Displaying maturity and tactical time wasting to see out the final 2 minutes to pick up an all important 5 points on a day which if we went back to previous years I'm sure they wouldn't have seen this game out.

It shows depth and current win mindset with them closing the gap with the teams above, a big game next week @ OO's with many players due back.

UTH!

Locked Out

Some hard fought games this weekend and I agree with Gaters, Ripon pulled another top notch performance out of bag and simply stopped Bridlington playing. To be fair, Brid had a decent scrum and won a couple of penalties from them. The line outs were a bit of a lottery however and both sides nicked a few of each others.

Ripon kept it simple and with three Fijians in the squad, played them two at a time to confuse the enemy and two of the five tries went their way. Ripon were somewhat taken aback to be 19 - 0 up at half time and were waiting for the storm surge. Unfortunately for Brid, the tide had turned and their ship had sailed, gaining a sole consolation try in the second half.

Good to see a Ripon win at home, good to see Peter Squires up in lights at Twickers and the applause for him and Tony Bond and of course an England win. Northallerton away next week, let's see who has "True Grit".

cynic

Only game in Yorkshire 2 that was called off was the one at the top of a hill.

Surely Baildon and Mr RFU could have found an alternative venue.

I heard that Baildon were at full strength and desperate to get the game played! No unavailability at all!!!
