Good luck to Skipton who are in to the Counties 3 North Plate semi final on Saturday after they just edged York RI away 22-23 last weekend. They host Fleetwood who won Lancashire 3 this season so will be a tough game but I'm backing Skipton to do the job on home turf.

Just on a side note, RI only losing by one point to a well established Yorkshire 3 side is surely a good sign for Yorkshire 4.

Bit of late season drama in the cup involving Skipton. They played Fleetwood on Saturday and after 80 minutes it was level 12-12, at the full time whistle the referee gave Skipton the win and advancing them to the final but in the rules for the competition they should of gone to extra time.

Since Saturday Fleetwood have put in a complaint to the RFU and the RFU have decided the game needs replaying, so instead of playing in the final down at Doncaster Skipton will host Fleetwood again this Saturday. I'm informed Skipton have appealed the decision and rightly so In my opinion but it looks like Skipton vs Fleetwood Round 2 is happening this Saturday the 16th.

I'm glad it's being replayed. Fleetwood were shafted at full time by a referee who didn't know the rules. I've never seen a rule anywhere in any competition that awards a win at full-time to the Home team in a drawn match so I'm not sure what the referee was doing.

Another money spinner for Skipdale. Yet more expense for Fleetwood and the RFU talk about junior club sustainability. I wonder if the RFU will come clean and give Fleetwood some travel expenses. I suspect not.
Watch this space.

BTW.
Skipton a well supported local club who deserve a bit of limelight, they have good facilities and a basic sound home support. All the best from North Ribb on your quest for a cup success.
