..... although we may have accepted it quicker and moved on....

I see Scarbs already posting their first signing for next year...

Same can't be said for many other teams and can't wait to see teams social media posts throughout summer.

Ilkley seem to have lost a few maybe a difficult season ahead? Will York have to add a few in order to survive?

Pristine Shorts

Ilkley lost a few ? Just one, so far as I know - Harrison to Heath.

BishBashBosh

Lowes, B Morgan, Harrison - is Magee playing another season?

Pristine Shorts

Joe Lowes didn't play for most of the season, because of recurring head-injuries. However, I believe he has gone as player-coach to Otliensiens ; Blake Morgan has retired because of his recurrent knee problems and Harry Harrison has gone to Heath, as he has moved into the area, according to his announcement on Heath's website.

A lot of hype from Scarborough for a young man that's not played a senior game of rugby before, and very little exposure at fly half at any level.

He looks confident in the multiple videos and hats off to Scarborough for showcasing a signing in such a professional manner.
I suppose the question would be is it a lot of pressure to apply on a young lad yet to prove himself?

backrowbandit

"a lot of hype" 🤭🤭. Wait for some of the other signings, that will get you into a tis!

Well one thing is for sure, whatever output and content Scarborough push out on our social channels...you can bet your house that within a week Driffield will copy it! It's been a beautiful compliment to our coms team, so we'll take it!

Anyhow when are you going to announce your Kiwi import? That could be one to hype!

Oh that's exciting to hear of new signings to push for the national leagues.
How much did the club settle on to pay the 1st team players in the end?

Scarborough do social media incredibly well, fantastic advert for the club, and no doubt will be a fantastic advert for the wider league with the content and coverage.

An overseas player or 2 is never breaking news for Driffield, it's been a regular feature of every squad for a long time.

backrowbandit

We settled on a basic £150 per match and a £200 win bonus. We've also thrown in an extra incentive of a trip to las Vegas for the whole squad if we stay in the league next year..... And if we get promoted an all expenses trip to Driffield.

P s. Thanks for the compliment, I'll pass it onto the coms team.

Agree with DL seems like a lot of pressure to put on a young lads shoulders. All quiet on the social media front from Hull & Scunthorpe apart from the loss of a couple of coaches. You'd think if they keep a similar squad to last season they'd be up at the top end of the league.

Pristine Shorts

Yes, he is.

Moving this to RE1 chat hope you don't mind Pristine!

As I have said before, looking forward "to playing Scarbs and Ribb again - it's been a long time. Most promoted teams seem to have struggled to cope with extra pace in NE1, so there is clearly a gap.

However, the gap from NE1 or N3N is even greater, as every team in N3N is semi-professional. So if Scunthorpe and Hull can hold on to their sponsors and players, they're going to be very hard to beat. Apart from those two, Alnwick would be my favourites."

I agree and can't see anyone other than those 3 to make up the top 3 teams if Hull and Scun keep the core of their squads together they'll be hard to beat.

Especially with it seeming like lots of teams losing players... not many new signings on social media but I guess only time will tell. Wouldn't count out the newly promoted teams especially N Rib- a side with a hell of a lot of momentum don't write them off I think top half at least.
