Looking forward to greeting you at Stack's Field in December, old boy.

Ribbflagman

Likewise looking forward to it. We wont be on a bus but I will be travelling on public transport so no hurry home. Looking forward to it Mr Shorts.

Have Scarborough not followed the demise of Bridlington in recent years? Or Beverley in years gone by? Pocklington went through a similar phase.

The infrastructure is there, the financial backing is there, but the player base isn't. The clubs done brilliant things to grow rugby in the town, with the direct links to the college and their rugby programme, but something seems off with the current development plans for the 1st team.

I'm sure BRB will have some wise words or some grand master plan for the future. But a 1st team is being built completely on players from overseas. The resigning of all these amazing under 20s players won't count for much when they are plying their trade in Yorkshire 3 because another overseas backrow is taking the shirt.

Every club will do what they see fit, but from the outside looking in, the short term survival (and even promotion push) in Regional 1 seems to be taking over. It's ended badly for many clubs in the past.

I'm sure BRB was one of the many people at the time flagging the slippery slope Bridlington was heading down with a successful 1st Team built on overseas talent.

To be fair to BRB, what is a club supposed to do when overseas players knock on the door and say they've moved to the town, found a job and now fancy a social game of rugby on a Saturday afternoon?

Exactly
Loving all rugby but especially at grassroots level.

Don't worry loyal followers our next (UK) signings will address your concerns. Not long to wait...

And 3 non UK passport holders out of a squad of 40 doesn't sound too excessive.

But I love the attack mode from our friends in Driffield 🤔

😂😂 no attack, Just pointing out the hypocrisy that has been spouted for years by our friend at Scarborough.

You were very keen to jump on the forum regarding 1 kiwi joining Kelleythorpe, but when the other way round it's an "attack"
