Financially, managed correctly it could be very beneficial. Handled poorly it could be a drain...

I follow Pock and their 2s finished 3rd in the merit league but have been put a league above Selby 2s who finished 2nd with a strong season
Its needs some sorting out really.

Could there be any particular reason for that?

We relied on our 3rd team a fair bit, player pool isn't great. Counties 2 against 1st teams and strong teams like ionions 2s, wharfdale 2s,even driff 2s when we play their 3s in the merit leagues. Counties 4 would of been better suited to start maybe

Having looked at both the structured season and new 2nd teams comming into Yorkshire leagues the one thing that stands out to me like a sore thumb is it appears our comps committee have purposefully structured the season to give the new 2nd teams the easiest ride they could gerrymander with 6 out of the 22 league games for the new 2nd teams, in 12 team leagues, on weekends were their 1st team do not have a game.

If we are going to have this at least keep the clubs honest and make the 2s in a 12 team leagues play on the same weekend as their 1st teams, London society can do it. I cant see why North cant also manage this and just replicate the structured season London put in place.

Some clubs will take advantage of that happening and where 1st team will play down to 'help' or get some game time as club men. I know many 1st team players at clubs won't play down unless dropped and then they can all of a sudden be busy

Yorkshire 2 none of the 1st teams will get a look in, in that league. Basically a screw you from the RFU to the 1st teams in that league. It will be a season of cricket scores for Drif, Wharefdale and ionians 2s in Y2A, and in Y2B will be Harrogate, Heath and Sandal 2s entertaining their blazers by putting 100 points past the likes of Bramley and Corinthians. The problem is some of these 2nds teams are at Y1 level, or higher if there 1s have a good season for injuries. The lower teams in Y2 are going to suffer this season till those team work their way to the level they should be at.

Yorkshire 3 and 4, from my experience of the 2nd teams in those leagues I dont see this as being as much of a problem as Y2. Still expect to see some cricket scores when the 2nd teams are playing on weekends that their 1s dont have a game.
