Has anyone got any pre-season fixtures booked in and with who?

Vandals had a hybrid match against Crocs on Thursday. No rucking with the ground so hard, avoiding unnecessary injuries, more wanting to run plays rather than be slowed down on the floor. Decent run out, lots to take away and work on. We were supposed to have Oldham next Friday but we shall see with what's been going on.

Ripon have Peterlee & Horden on 22nd August and pitch looking pretty good. Then up at Wensleydale on 28th and soundings suggest playable there too.

Ripon came off second best to a spirited and well-organised Wensleydale this afternoon 32 - 0. Thought Ripon deserved a few points at least, but if you don't cross the line...

Whilst under the banner of a pre-season friendly and important charity fund raiser, both sides went at it from the outset and local rivalry was evident throughout. Despite some fair individual performances, Ripon didn't gel as a team whereas 'Dale played the team game more cohesively.

A decent crowd and fund raising activities for worthy causes saw a great atmosphere at Cawkill Park afterwards. Hopefully that set the tone for both clubs for the season.

Next week Ripon 2nds are in the cup v Whitby and then bring on the start of the league (unless we have another drought!) on 26th, with Ripon 1sts v Hull Ionians 2nds. Can't wait.

Otley were looking for an opponent for Saturday. They have a first team fixture though so don't know whether it's a 2's or reserve side
