Season delay!

Following the message from the RFU last night what are people's thoughts on the delay of the start of the season?

I know some pitches that do not get maintained are solid but by the way the message reads it's so teams that have good pitches and can train are getting an unfair advantage compared to the clubs who have cancelled training due to hard ground...

Has anyone has issues with cancelling training at all due to the weather?

No problem at North Ribb. Pitch in good shape and playable.
Second team pitch is too hard and I wouldnt want to risk our players on it at the moment, However we do not have any game days where we have two teams at home this season so its not an issue.

No issue at the Gannock, three out four pitches irrigated, Full of grass, very green and ready for rugby... Even our fourth pitch can be played on just a bit brownish.

Played at Moortown last night. Their pitch was hard but took a stud. They'd been watering it regularly so absolutely no reason theirs wouldn't be playable in September

No irrigation system at Wetherby and the pitches are concrete at the minute.

Having said that, remember playing a season opener at home against Beverley a few years ago on a complete dust bowl. Ground was so parched you could barely see the white lining against the grass so not sure what's different this year?

It seems quite a coincidence that earlier in the week the RFU sent out an email about RFU Insurance and Howdens.
