The irony of Morley complaining about club facilities

I think you may be pleasantly surprised this year. One of the better paid players didn't take up their contract this year so we used the spare change (a good few thousand £) to refurbish the changing rooms and showers over the summer. I am informed that there are now functioning showers and even some hooks for the players' towels.

Some good points well made by Percy, the owl, the convert and Betty.

Also a good reply from oldtimer.

Mea culpa.

The post was to be honest a little tongue in cheek, the Morley players themselves were impressed by the Wath welcome.

Wath also did enough on the pitch to demonstrate they deserve to be in this league.

Morley being more accustomed;  due to their history, to grounds at the upper echelons of English rugby, harks back to at least the mid 1980s.

The club's history is often used as a stick to 'beat' us with.

I for one would only wish to go back 40 years because both my knees worked, my back seldom caused me discomfort and I could sleep on both hips.

However I'm not sure I miss heavy cotton kit, Ralgex and/or Tiger Balm and watching whilst so many games degenerated into a brawl.

Halifax Vandals in the 1990s brings back a mountain of happy memories.

The point I was clumsily making was that the game has thankfully changed.

To continue to provide a product people want to play and watch we have to allow players to play a quick entertaining game.

Has anybody demonstrated to you that they don't 'deserve' to be in this league Jim?
