Good result for the Vikings on their trip to Burley. Doesn't look like anyone predicted that one.

Missus was at an appointment in Leeds, Burley is still an open pitch/stadium next to road with no admission fee. No brainer to go and watch some Yorkshire 3 rugby for free whilst in the area. Burley 26-7 up due some very slick offloading in contact, good reloading of the blindside and some missed tackles from Scarborough. The "Vikings" also falling asleep when they got turned over in Burley's 22, expected the ball to bounce out and non of the backs ran back to track the kick. Burley's winger going over to almost take the game away before half time.


Scarborough Vikings in the second half were like a different team that shouldn't be where they are table wise. 39 unanswered points, until rouge kicking decisions, and good late Burley phase play made for an interesting last 10.

The second teams clearly belong in the leagues. It may take a few years to level out, but the fact WPL have endured the first summer in forever where no other club was able to poach a player from them to higher levels may be the reason they're sitting high. Just shouldn't be so smug about it - expanding the leagues to ensure Saturdays are filled with our beautiful game is never going to be a bad decision. Just needs time.
