The hole in my heart from Maltby not showing up this season has been filled by a new car. Really recommend 22 reg KIA proceeds, great bang for your buck.

Hope you're very happy together GB.

In other news, sadly due to unforeseen circumstances at Thirsk RFC, Ripon 2nds v Thirsk has been postponed. According to the competition rules, fixtures at this level can be rearranged rather than resulting in walkovers. This match will therefore be rescheduled for 30 January 2027 and hopefully inclement weather won't cause a further postponement.

Harrogate Pythons 2nds v Wensleydale 2nds
This should be an interesting fixture with both teams looking to put some points on the board. Think this will be close and Wensleydale take it narrowly.

Hessle v Whitby
Whitby looking to carry on their perfect start, a long trip but with good preparation I think Whitby will take the points on the road.

Hullensians 2nds v Richmondshire
This should be a good fixture and I think it will depend on what sort of squad Richmondshire can muster up. Hullensians home win.

Knaresborough v Ilkley 3rds
Ilkley with some mixed fixtures so far, close affair, Ilkley win.

Ripon 2nds v Thirsk
Shame to see this game has been postponed. Any knowledge of the reason why?

Have a good run out anyone taking the field this week 🏉

Ribbflagman

Why oh why could the fixtures for the two Hull teams not have been organised away on the same day. Could have dropped the firsts off in Cheesedale then sauntered up the road to Richmondshire. Makes perfect sense to me. But then again common sense has not always been my forte!!!!

Ribbflagman

Have heard that the Ripon lads have got "Scrumpox" after a couple of lads secretly training at Otley. Maybe Mr Locky can enlighten us all.

Time to watch

Pythons v Wensleydale, both sides are struggling for numbers so home advantage to take it.
Hessle v Whitby, Hessle much stronger at home but think Whitby will win the arm wrestle
Hullensions v Richmond, Hull to take this comfortably
Knaresborough v Ilkley,  Home side cannot raise a team, rearranged
Ripon v Thirsk, away team cannot raise a side, rearranged

Can only assume you had an eye on Otley's training squad for your next big money signing from all your well off agricultural investors?

Rucky,
really pleased to see your sense of humour has not diminished. Good luck tomorrow.

Pythons 20 - 31 Wensleydale

A game played in the right spirits as both teams started with 13 following late drop outs and then lost further players throughout. Two pretty evenly matched teams except for their 10, he was the difference in a 4 tries to 5 game both in the gameplay and from the tee.
Forwards decide who wins the game, the backs decide by how much.

Time to watch

Hessle 20 Whitby 43
A much change Whitby battled hard for the win against an Hessle side that really came out to play. The home side lost their number 10 to injury after 15 mins which upset their flow and a red card mid way through the second half did not help their cause. Whitby managed to score at regular intervals to stay in front and get another 5 points

Sorry for the belated response Flaggy, don't want you to think I'm ignoring you. Thirsk called the game off in good time during the week and as per competition rules, it has been rearranged for 30th January.

Thirsk's issue was and remains a dearth of players for various reasons - injuries, work, family etc. We wish them well and hope that the club is able to position itself to regularly field competitive squads regularly.

On the matter of scrumpox, it has not raised its "ugly head" at Ripon (yet) and hopefully, the correct sanitary advice will be followed, as will the prophylactic doses of Acyclovir be appreciated. It is however, virulently communicated through sheep and upland cattle, via any contact, so beware!  ;D

Yeah we've had two massive results early season that gave an impression we would walk the league. Whitby and Hessle enforced what I thought that those two would be the dominant forces.

We have had the Knaresborough game re arranged to a date we haven't been consulted on and shock most are on a stag do.

My understanding is we had to chase Knaresborough to find out they didn't have the numbers...
