PP very unlucky but not everybody were going to be happy with whatever decision was made. According to local paper and their coach, BB could have had a 5.00 pm slot to play there last match but they would have only had half a team so I assume that they will be happy with the end placing.

Surely 1st XV matches trump second team fixtures? And isn’t that the whole point of AGPs?

2
Well we are absolutely gutted with that result!!

We felt our form post Christmas was good enough to keep us in the league. We are capable of beating the top teams but brain farts in certain matches ultimately cost us.

Our run was against teams around us with Pocklington and B&B having to come to Preston Avenue.

The two teams below us with games in hand on us, what would happen if one team didn’t pick up any points?

3
I presume play offs will be scrapped?

PP have just been consistently inconsistent this year!! We had all thought they were building something last year but as all teams who struggle with injuries, availabilities and buy in do take their toll and effect performances.

Looking at their squad this week it actually seems like they have finally put out the same squad 2 weeks in a row!!

7
They promoted player coach Ash Smith to Head Coach and made current players and club captains Michael Langlands and Andrew Dunn joint forwards coaches.

They also have Matt Hodkinson from the Newcastle Falcons 1st team analyst helping out.

Scarborough losing 21-7
Scarborough well beaten by PP who did nothing spectacular but took their opportunities when needed. Tries from an interception and two charged down kicks put pressure on Scarborough that they never really responded to. Not to say they didn’t play well but just couldn’t execute at the crucial moments.
We didn’t compete well enough at the breakdown and yet again struggled to get quick enough support to breaking players. Thought Tom Harrison, Angus and Henry stuck at it well.

As a PP spectator, York were dominant in the first half but in the second half didn’t want too know.

I was stood behind the posts and all York did was slag each other off under the posts!!

But being slightly biased.... PP finally took a team that plays at home away and got an away win. In the second half they broke the gain line with ease.

Scarborough 48 - 31 PP

5 points to 1.

Decent bonus point but maybe if park weren’t missing a few they could have got something from it!

Sorry don’t know names and not naming players from my own club....

YMCAs 12 is a decent ball carrier

Pocks 8 was a decent off the back of the scrum

Scarbs back row was physical. Really liked their 9, when we played them the other week the game changed when he went off

Morpeths front five are solid unit.

Morpeths 9 bosses them around the park and is fairly nippy

Phew...that was close!

Scarborough did a Morley and set off like a train scoring four tries and securing the bonus point within no time at all. It wasn't as quick as Morley's 15 minutes but it was still good going.

In all honesty Scarborough rarely got out of 2nd gear and we aren't good enough to win matches at that level. PP came back gradually throughout the match keeping the scoreboard ticking over.. eventually they ended up taking g the lead with around 10 minutes to go.

Most people probably still thought Scarborough would come back if only we could shift into a higher gear. Thankfully we did in the last two minutes and scored a 5th try to secure the match.

Tough day. PP a good side clearly playing with the shackles off and that was to their benefit.

Big crowd but a little flat.

We'll refereed.

All three Scarborough teams recorded victory's with the 2nd team putting a big score on Beverley (60 odd I think).

Some interesting results today. Good for Cleck and West Leeds but not good for Brid or Morley (big surprise).

Blackburn romped in easy winners.

Game of 2 halves!! Much like the England Scotland game the other week...

Scarborough playing a very high tempo first half capitalising on PPs mistakes. PP were still sat on their coach trip and it looked like a 60 point game to scarbs.

Second half was a role reversal, PP we’re playing the better rugby and moving the ball well.

Speaking to some Alicadoos in the bar after they were very complimentary of the PP attack when they finally got going.

Not to criticise referees but we couldn’t believe how the scarbs player didn’t get a yellow after that tip tackle on our hooker, ref had his cards out and after a while put them back while he was receiving treatment.

If that had happened and park didn’t get a yellow in the last 5 it could have been one of the comebacks of the season.

For the neutral it would have been a great game to watch!!

PP were the better team until their discipline at the ruck let S’boro creep back into the game!!

Winters definitely arrived!!!

Agree with Pocklington 8 in attack when he played at PP, very quick off the back of the scrum but didn't seem to put it about in defence.

Morpeth pack are a strong outfit.

York were good in attack but have a soft spot. There 9 caused us all sorts of damage.

Bridlingtons Johnston was also a very useful player... supposedly spent some time up at the Falcons.

With my Percy Park hat on, Reece the 13 has been outstanding this year as to our back rower Wilson who has came back from his travels in NZ.

Every team in this league are for the taking when you play at home as no one seems to travel well. I personally think any team in the top 7 have a chance at the top 2 spots. It all comes down to injuries and consistent selections and trying to sneak them away wins. Even though we've not seen every team play yet, I don't think there is a stand out team yet.

For the drop - Consett - hoping that they will nick some wins up at their ground, West Leeds - supposedly theres been a few leave, and the 3rd spot might be to team whos had the least amount of luck with injuries!
