Locked Out

Any interest in some predictions for fun, assuming they all go ahead?

Acklam v Beverley
Baildon v Harrogate Pythons
Goole v Hullensians
Ossett v Ripon
Roundhegians v Bridlington
Wath Upon Dearne v Keighley
Wensleydale v Leodiensians
.

Locked Out

Smoggies v Beavers: A real class war here with heightened security in the car park to watch over the visiting Beamers. Noting lack of calibre of D&N sides against Yorkies, going for a solid away win. Bev +7

Bai£don v Pythonssss: Tough one to call this and want to go with home advantage by think Gate might just have too much for them. Pythons -7

Goonies v Dockers: No mugs either side but looks like Ensians are starting the season stronger. 'Ull -7

Wakey wind ups v Rugrats: Always a tough day at the office at Queen's Terrace, but fancy an away win, Rugrats buoyed by last week's cup win. Ripon -7

Snoozers v Fishermen: No home advantage here and Brid will want to bounce back after last week. Brid +7

Salad dodgers v Keefleh: Nowhere to hide on the postage stamp and the big heavies to stifle any thoughts of an expansive game. Woff -7

Cheesies v Skiers: battle of the bottom feeders, but everything going for a home win - terrain, weather, crowd. Dale +7

After all that Beverley gave a W/O weeks ago.
"Bother!" said Pooh, as he found his smack had talc in it.

Ossett 9 no more

Acklam v Beverley  HWO apparently
Baildon v Harrogate Pythons - tough one to call , Baildon just -7
Ossett v Ripon - Always back yourself Ossett +7 - see you tomorrow Lockers
Roundhegians v Bridlington  - Brid -7
Wath Upon Dearne v Keighley - Wath stopped the juggernaut that is Dinno , so Wath just -7
Wensleydale v Leodiensians - no idea , log way to go so Wensleydale +7

Hope everyone gets their rugby fix , enjoy one and all

Acklam v Beverley - HWO

Baildon v Harrogate Pythons - never an easy fixture away at Baildon. Been a while since we played them so not really sure what to expect. Always back yourselves though. Pythons +7

Goole v Hullensians - if both sides were at full strength I'd probably back Hullensians here. I just have a feeling that Goole might be more up for the cup though. Goole -7

Ossett v Ripon - Ossett at home are always strong but Ripon have loved a cup run recently. Going for home advantage in a high scoring game. Ossett -7

Roundhegians v Bridlington - if Bridlington travel at full strength I think they would take the win but I think the league might be their priority so backing a home win. Roundhegians +7

Wath Upon Dearne v Keighley - should be a cracker. I can't see Wath losing many, if any, at home this season though. Wath +7

Wensleydale v Leodiensians - Dale at home will be too strong for Leos. Dale +7

#9
Wath 43 - 0 Keighley
Ossett 12 - 39 Ripon
Goole 54 - 31 Hullensians
Roundhegians 20 - 54 Bridlington
Wensleydale 36 - 17 Leodiensians
Baildon 30 - 48 Pythons

Despite a nightmare start finding ourselves 14-0 down after 5 minutes we recovered well and ran out winners in a game where the kicking kept it closer than it should have been at 8 tries to 3. Not sure I've ever seen a hooker score 5 tries in a game before either!

Locked Out

Ripon did a whole lot better at Ossett than expected and ran out convincing winners in what was at times a gritty and hard fought encounter. With Ossett blind siding everyone including themselves, to score the opening try of the game with just 45 seconds on the clock, it looked like it was going to be a long old afternoon at the Terrace.

Scrum and line out effectiveness gave Ripon quality first half possession and three first half half tries, two of which were converted for a 7 - 19 half time score.

Ossett fought hard in the second half but couldn't make the slope, or the referee's favour work for them on the scoreboard. Two more converted tries and two penalty goals from Ripon gave them a commanding lead and Ossett's consolation try was just desserts for their doggedness to stay in the fight. A different story maybe if Ripon's Dick of the Day Wing had actually touched the ball down on the two occasions he crossed the line! What might have been.

Hospitality was great thanks Jez and players enjoyed "awards ceremony" afterwards - not enough clubs stick to it these days. Looking to next round of Yorkshire Shield if anyone's left in it and meeting Ossett again in the league.
