Have any fixtures fallen foul of the weather as of yet?

backrowbandit

I can't see any matches being off. It will be a bit blowy but other than that I would question any club who tried to postpone today.

Scarborough won something like 50 -23 against Morley

Why was Wetherby v Moortown abandoned?

Was on track to be a cricket score, unsure if Wetherby were really good or Moortown really bad.. perhaps both.

Braved the elements today at Scarborough who were good value for their win. Ultimately they played the conditions better and punched holes in the Morley defence during the first half which gave them an insurmountable lead. It will be a tough ask to beat Scarb on their home patch and they've evidently built a capable squad even with injuries.

Just a word on the referee who had his work cut out with the elements. Two crucial faux pas in the first half which lead to two tries for the home side when seemingly everyone in the ground saw the knock ons but him.

It wasn't to be for Morley and well done to Scarbs.

Wetherby had 40 mph wind behind them first half, Moortown did well to sta in contest but their own errors cost them min defence. The second half would've been interesting especially with the wind continu

Scarborough unstoppable in the first half against an unexpectedly disappointing Morley side who despite having a big pack struggled to make significant impact. Morley with the wind behind were slightly better in the second half but still second best. Morley are a threat when close to the line but pretty one dimensional and predictable. Scarborough continue to look good and defend superbly with many dominant tackles. Long may it continue.
When the second seal was opened another horse came out, a fairy red one. Its rider was given power to take the p*ss from the earth and to make men lay with each other. To him was given a large ego.

Almost an entirely different selected team from last week's battling performance in the cup. Lots of future stars were blooded in the cup.

I think B29s word "unstoppable" about Scarborough in the first half is a fair one. Although Morley didn't seem up for the battle in the first 40 minutes.

Scarborough made full use of sub rotation and took precautions for players with niggles in the 2nd half. In fairness Morley came out with a bit more fight and limited the scoring to on more Scarborough try.

Im not sure who have Morley next week but I'd be expecting a reaction after that limp performance.

Big crowd for ladies day.

The ref may have missed a knock on but so what, he had a very good game and quietly let the game flow and most importantly was even handed.

Still got some players out injured, hopefully we don't add to that list and when they return it will create some more selection headaches for the coaches.

The wind must have given them that extra push for the 40m maul? I feel that putting the score difference at half time purely down to the wind is whimsical.

I have no doubt the rearranged fixture will be a different game but yesterday the gulf in the first half was quite big.

crash ball

A bit of an odd one, this. On the surface, it looks like a heavy defeat, but dig a little deeper and you'll see that Scarborough scored almost all their points in the first half, aside from a late try and conversion. As someone mentioned earlier, Scarborough were also rather fortunate — three of their scores came after clear knock-ons in the build-up and a blatant crossing obstruction (and as we know, the VEO doesn't lie).

Sometimes the decisions go your way, and sometimes they don't. I'm sure Scarborough supporters would have had plenty to say if the roles were reversed!

At the end of the day, Scarborough adapted to the conditions better than Morley. They dominated the lineout, while Morley had the upper hand in the scrum. Scarborough carried the ball with more intent and direction and were deserved winners.

Here's hoping for calmer weather next week — and the return of some of the injured and unavailable players to training.
