So from the results today the league is starting to take shape!

The next 5 weeks will determine realistically who will be playing their rugby in Y1 next season!!

Let's have a closer look into the league at this point aiming mostly at the top 5!

OO's - they are the only unbeaten team in the league now. However they haven't really been tested thus far.

They have played 1 team in the top 5 and were pushed to the very end! So in the next 5 games! They play the teams around them so how will they do??

Roundeghians

The Leeds based student club are yet to play any of their counterparts in the top 5 yet, so the next 5 games will display if they will Keep up with the pace or fall off!!

I think they will tumble back down with a bang in the next few weeks so I hope they enjoyed their elevation to the top, however they have the Form atm - will this push them through!

🐝 bees!

Again not really had a test yet, their next 4 games are against the teams in the top 5 starting with HLH at
Home in 2 weeks! I think we will have a better understanding as of their credentials from upcoming results!

Bridlington

Brid started 4 tough fixtures against the top 5 yesterday, they lost their undefeated streak, they had the first half however were blown out of the water by HLH in the second half! Again the next few results will either have a positive or negative effect on Their challenge to promotion!

HLH

On paper the HLH boys have had the hardest start across the top 5! They have played or are 3/5 teams up there!

Whilst looking at the bigger picture and that disappointing result to vandals early on In the season, HLH could be seen as going under the radar, with a much more pleasant 5 game period ahead! If they can pick up a few wins and beat bees & hegians in the coming weeks they could find themselves in the top 2 before Christmas!!

What ever happens teams in the top 5 are going to start picking up and dropping points in the next 5 weeks.

What's everyone's else's opinions?

Next round of fixtures is big with the top 6 all playing each other. You'd think Brid would have to beat Otliensians at home if they want to be considered promotion contenders. Likewise an away victory for Ensians really makes them the team to beat. Other than that it's really anyone's game. A good run of form while the top 5 take points off each other would bring Ripon and Baildon into the conversation as well.

Locked Out

For starters, it was good to see two of the top three show their fallibility, particularly Brid going down by so many points. OO's seem the most rounded team and when on the front foot, can score tries by the bucket load. Having only seen Ripon play OOs and B&B so far, see they have very different strengths. The mid-table melee of Baildon and Ripon may move slightly further upwards and based on form after six weeks I can see HLH and Hegians slipping down a bit.

Can't see anyone knocking OOs out of top two or three spots and think Brid will be back in the chase. Hegians have a pacey and creative team, but lack the grunt that winter will need. My prediction for final placing is:

B&B
OOs
Brid
HLH
Hegians
Ripon
Baildon
Halifax
BP
Ossett
HV
North

I don't think HLH will drop off, they played with only 4 first team backs yesterday, and ran in so many points in.

We have players coming back in the coming weeks, which will Add that extra calibre into the back line and I think they'll go onto push the top 2.

If we win next week the bees game then I think the dizzy heights in the league might cause me to have a few nose bleeds

Hardly a surprise from a former National league club, and from a Rugby town.

BenFoden’s grey beard

Why are you hiding, downplaying the achievements of others on the Y2 forum when there's a big question waiting for you to answer elsewhere?

Crowding the bar

Shaping up to be a much more competitive season than the last, at both ends of the table making for interesting viewing, as always the wet winter months will prove to cause a challenge for some clubs and will play right into the arms of others. Having not seen many of the top 4 in action yet this season it's hard to comment on final outcome:

Brid
OOs
Hegians
B&B
HLH
Baildon
Ripon
Ossett
Vandals
BP
Halifax
Northallerton

Having played the top 3 , I would say oo have the quickest backs , brid the biggest pack and BB probably the best drilled, the only team in the lower half of the table north have played is BP and we beat them , too early to say we will finish bottom ,
