Both sides played out a physical encounter yesterday however the match ended in a bizzare fashion. Rotherham were well ahead after 65 mins however Leeds ran in two tries in the next 10 mins and the referee informed the players Rotherham were 2 points ahead. With 5 mins to go Leeds then scored again believing they were now 3 points up. Leeds played out the remaining minutes and kicked the ball dead once time had run out and the full time whistle went. Both teams thought Leeds had snatched a late victory however the referees assessor informed the referee that Rotherham were actually 2 points in front and the score was 31-29.I've never witnessed anything like it before. Does anyone know the rules with regards to something like this?

Yes

If the referee made a mistake then he made a mistake.  Unfortunately this happens (not the first time ive heard of this) and if the assessor had the correct score and informed the referee of his error then there is little point in arguing it.

Surely the mistake rests with the Club for not having anyone keeping a record of the Score during the match.
I bet both clubs have someone doing that task next week.

Personally I'd lost count in the second half and would always rely on the man in the middle to clarify. He made a mistake and mistakes happen. Just a very unusual ending. It's definitely a lesson to be learnt for everyone involved.
