Great game at Vandals. Laund Hill started very impressively scoring an early converted try and looking like they would run away with the game! Vandals defence was exceptional, however, and they gradually ground their way back into the match and lead 10-7 At half time. An even 2nd half saw Vandals continue with excellent defence, a fantastic length of the field try from Laund Hill was not enough to claim the spoils in a very entertaining match. Credit to both teams.

Well, the walls of "Fortress Mallorie Park" came tumbling down yesterday, with Ripon taking a home defeat and gracefully accepting a losing bonus point. With Phoenix looking the fitter and more creative team from start to finish and after going 0 - 10 down in as many minutes from the start of the game, Ripon did well to claw back to take the lead momentarily at 18 - 17. Some wrong options and poor finishing prevented Ripon from going for the kill and the lively Phoenix came good in the end in an all round performance that belies their lowly position in the league and bagged them a try bonus point. Keep playing like that and the relegation threat could soon be a thing of the past. Ripon however, with a league reputation to recover and still in the two cup competitions, have plenty of options for glory of some sort, just need to put a few things in order and start playing to their potential.
