What's the nationality of Scarboroughs LH? TH? Replacement prop? Captain? 10? 13? Have I missed anyone?

Glass houses BRB

Maybe want to have a word with Matty Jones about the propositions to overseas players on social media before passport control is moved to far from Driffield, could save a taxi fair or 5

Quote from: Differ Lid on Jul 25, 2026, 01:49 PMSomething tells me that some games are currently taking place on the forum, and those with some international imports incoming are yet to admit it publicly until they see them land in Settle or on the East Coast.

Plenty has been highlighted about Driffields Kiwi, which is standard practice. But the team built on a once in a generation pool of players and the team built on Scarborough Colleges employee budget (sorry the desire of overseas players to move to the sunny east coast) don't appear to be forthcoming with the new imports.

I might be wrong, and apologies for pointing fingers if I am, but something is telling me that certain clubs are trying to keep cards close to their chest on the forum for whatever reason

Agreed Differ, the silence is deafening 😂

What's that rumbling noise? Can you hear it boys? It sounds like an announcement rolling in to me.....maybe I'm wrong.

Overseas import or one of Ben Fodens mates?!

What pre season games have teams got pencilled in? Just out of interest.

backrowbandit

For some reason we are playing Hull Ionians?!?!

😂 I'm now really confused by the repeated highlighting of Driffields incoming overseas player.

Might have been worth building a new runway for the 100th year at Silver Royd instead of the 4g pitch.

backrowbandit

We can afford to do both 🤣

Quote from: Jim on Jul 08, 2026, 06:12 PMInteresting to see BRB talk about paying players when he has previously been so adamant that Scabs don't and won't.

Amazing ethologically to see a leopard change its spots before my very eyes.

Lordy Lordy it's a miracle.

Errrr .What have I got to do with this conversation?

Scarboroughs position remains completely unchanged and always will.

Let us hope that your latest Antipodean import doesn't realise he won't get 'paid'.

Maybe he is also on an 'expenses' only deal?

backrowbandit

He will be paid....by the employer he manages to get a job with in town.

We have people from the UK wanting to come and experience Silver Royd for a couple of years. It's really not that complicated....they find a job and play rugby at a great place in front of appreciative crowds.

Isn't that the same elsewhere?

Exactly. He is being paid.

It's not about whether a club pays or doesn't pay. It's about integrity.

If a club pays, they should be honest snd say that they do.

It's not a difficult concept to grasp.

RFU class it as a Benefit In Kind from what I remember from my days of officialdom. Nothing wrong with it as long as it's declared (without getting into any hypocrisy debate which seems to involve several clubs in this league).

backrowbandit

I'm not sure if this is a case of lack of intelligence or casual racism.... But every single player at the club has a job somewhere. The club doesn't organise the work they go out and find their own job. What exactly is there to declare?

We have players currently overseas for summer choosing to go and play at clubs down under. They travel there under their own steam for an experience of rugby in another country and go out and ask for work whilst they're there.

This is nothing like some clubs who (entirely correctly) choose to pay players, for example Morley.

As for a benefit in kind I think you need to revisit school my friend to understand the meaning!
