Predictions

Was waiting for someone to make the post. But I'll start.

Alnwick vs Ilkley
Can't see past the home side here. Big pack, good running backs and impressive bench. The 5 substitutions made at once had a big impact last week.
Alnwick

Blaydon vs Hull
Blaydon at home again and will be looking to right the wrongs from last game. Hull always strong and have a few superstars who could cause an upset. Home side to just sneak it.
Blaydon

Scarborough vs North Ribblesdale
Hell of a trip for North Ribblesdale but I can see it being fruitless. Scarborough strong at home and the huge crowds they get should spur them on.
Scarborough

Scunthorpe vs Middlesbrough
Scunthorpe should win this comfortably at home, boro to pick up a point or two.
Scunthorpe

Sandal vs Northern
Sandal a different beast at home. Can see them handing Northern their first defeat.
Sandal

York vs Driffield
In previous years this would be match of the day material, but not so much anymore. Having seen both sides this year, I think York will have too much fire power if they are at full strength and the weather is fair.

Alnwick Vs Ilkley
Following the Scarborough Game Ilkley's results have been very impressive and look to of kicked on from last season. This could be a big clash. Ilkley to get a bonus point or 2 but don't see Alnwick slipping up at home.
Alnwick Win

Blaydon Vs Hull
Blaydon look to of got a strong squad this year that will be up there. Hull have not got of to the best start, although appear to of played a couple of the top teams. Another tough day for Hull but a close result.
Blaydon Win

Scarborough Vs North Ribblesdale
Scarborough are going to back themselves at home all season and will be right up for this one against a fellow promoted team.
Scarborough Win

Scunthorpe Vs Middlesbrough
Scunthorpe looked very clinical last week, not as forward dominated as the last time they were in the league, but they moved the ball very well and structured a good attack. Middlesbrough will struggle here.
Scunthorpe Win

Sandal Vs Northern
You can only beat the teams in front of you, and Northern off to the perfect start, although I think they have only played bottom half teams so far. This could be a test of credentials, I think the winning mentality will be enough against Sandal at the moment.
Northern Win

York Vs Driffield
If Alnwick Vs Ilkley isn't the game of the day, then I think this is. Both sides struggling to get the season going properly yet and derby day. This usually results in a good competitive fixture, but I will be hoping York aren't that competitive tomorrow.
Driffield Win

Alnwick v Ilkley - MOTD for sure ( at least on paper ) Ilkley scoring from all over the place at the moment and I reckon they'll get another try BP here. They have however fallen away in the last quarter of all three games so far, which is where they'll lose this if they're not careful. On the basis that I never back us to lose, narrow away win.

Blaydon v Hull - I think Blaydon will edge this, but only because they're at home on 'that' pitch.

Scarborough v N. Ribb - a long trip and I'm sure the visitors will be well looked after in every sense of the word. Home win.

Scunthorpe v Middlesboro' - Scunny seem to have got back on the horse and though 'Boro are doing well, can't see them winning here. Home win.

Sandal v Northern - the Wakey lads played the last quarter well last week, but the game was long over by then. A different prospect at home though. Toss of a coin and a tight home win.

York v Driffield - both sides needing to kick start their season. Where's that coin ? There ! York.

I think Alnwick at home to win.
Blaydon to just do it.
I am watching this game, although not seen NR for years, I expect Scarborough to win with ease.
Scunthorpe home win I expect.
Sandal v Northern. Just a home win.
Driffield for the win by a small margin. I hope.

Alnwick v Ilkley - I can see Alnwick running away with this. Home side by 20+

Blaydon v Hull - I'm not sure all those Hull players will fancy a long trip up the road to Newcastle. Another big home won.

Scarborough v N. Ribb - nothing in this. Almost too close to call. Ribbuave just announced a loan signing from Leeds Tykes and they take on the responsibility for his wages. Fair enough. Scar to nick it in the last 5 mins.

Scunthorpe v Middlesboro' - very big home win.

Sandal v Northern - Northern probably just got too much for Sandal so it's an away won for me.

York v Driffield - I think both sides probably missing some. York especially seems to be unlucky. Could go either way but I'll trust home advantage and go for York.

Alnwick vs Ilkley
Ilkley look a much stronger proposition than they did in week one. In form and the side starting looks much closer to full strength. Alnwick are still the team to beat.
Prediction: Alnwick Win

Blaydon vs Hull
Home advantage difference for me.
Prediction: Blaydon Win

Scarborough vs North Ribblesdale
Scarborough back at Silver Royd and I'm expecting them to make a statement here. Wouldn't surprise me if this ends up being a fairly big score.
Prediction: Scarborough Win

Scunthorpe vs Middlesbrough
Scunthorpe bounced back impressively last week and look capable of scoring plenty. Middlesbrough are competitive but this feels like a difficult away trip for them.
Prediction: Scunthorpe Win

Sandal vs Northern
Northern have started very well and you can only beat what's in front of you. Sandal away is probably a better test of where they really are, but I think the winning momentum continues.
Prediction: Northern Win

York vs Driffield
York look to have more quality in the squad than perhaps first appeared, particularly with Dean and Griffin around the group. Driffield's start has been poor and they're conceding too many points. The implosion is coming......
Prediction: York Win

Ribbflagman

Alnwick Home advantage against a thus far impressive Ilkley team.

Hull mercenaries to justify the paycheques but only just. Heard they only get 8 - 10 training, can anyone shed any light on said rumours.

Ribb will give it our best shot but we are still awaiting arrivals from three different continents. Wish we had Scarbs well organised agent down under!!! Close game Draw or Ribb by 3

Scunny at home.

Sandal at home. I was impressed by several players against us. Lots of pace wide out. But so have Northern but home advantage in a high scoring game.

York werent impressive last week as we let them off the hook in the second half but I am sure at home they will be a different team. If they win it could be a difficult season for the Pork farmers from Driff. Driff to kick start their season +7

Heard similar rumours. I suppose they only get the pay for a Saturday, and without competition for places why bother turning up on a Tuesday and Thursday if you are going to be guaranteed a place in the squad and the cash.

Range

Alnwick vs Ilkley
Alnwick at home, the favourites for the big time. No chance they are losing at home. Big Alnwick win

Blaydon vs Hull
8-10 training at the community centre in Hull... doesn't bode well for a long trip up North does it! Blaydon well too strong

Scarborough vs North Ribblesdale
Does Ribbs travel deal work in the Transpennine express or will it be a big money coach to the East Coast. All aside big day for the promoted teams. Scarborough to pick up a bonus point win.

Scunthorpe vs Middlesbrough
Nobody likes going to Scunthorpe. Another big home win here.

Sandal vs Northern
Northern's initial run to be tested today. Will be a bigger challenge. Expect a home win for Sandal

York vs Driffield
Never had an easy game against Driff. I expect they will pull round in next few weeks. Driff, to stuff it to the minster men today

How right you were, BRB !

Neutral visitor to Silver Royd. First half all NR. Scarbs no ball even with wind. NR backs looked good particularly scrum half and full back. Would be disappointed with 10 - 3 lead at halftime.
2nd half complete turnaround. NR with wind and no possession! Scarbs took hold of game and dominated territory and possession. 26 unanswered points to win with ease. NR will be so disappointed with 2nd half performance, whilst Scarbs will be delighted. Plenty of errors from both sides, but Scarbs will ask questions of most sides in league.
At last Driff got off and running, worrying result at home for York?

Looks like an implosion at York... and Hull turned up on their trip North...

Very fair assessment. Scarborough didn't get into the Ribb 22 in first half and down to 14 at the break. Felt ominous with Ribb turning round and taking the advantage of the wind. Second half was a complete different story, Dommett scored a great try coming off his wing, Dawson must have had 20 plus carries and never stopped but Eddie the eagle helped grip the game and made a big difference as the game went into the last quarter.

Judging by first month looks like a lot of teams will be taking points off each other, but all will be spending the year looking upward to the Mighty Alnwick

Definitely a game of two half's... Ribb were excellent in the first half. Pretty much everything worked for them and Flaggys nephew at flyhalf pulled the strings very nicely.

The new loan signing for Ribb on the wing was a class act going forward but wasn't too keen on defence.

Second half a complete turnaround... Scarborough were outstanding and Ribb tired.

I have to be honest at halftime I didn't see a bonus point win for Scarborough...

Game played in excellent spirit and well reffed as ever by Matthew Atkinson. Although it must very hard at this level refereeing without a team of three - the game is so fast.

Teams that manage to snatch some away wins in the league will be up there at the end of season.

Big crowd, large hospitality beforehand and kids asking for Ben Fodens autograph afterwards. Something for everyone!

The Sandal V Northern score on yorkshire rfu site, I looks to be wrong way round. Sandal report on website showing Northern win. 1 point to sandal, 5 to northern, I think.
