Right i get that rugby is a physical game but the baildon back who put a massive shot on my lad then squared up to him and told him he was so ugly it was untrue I think thats a bit far. Its not David's fault. Its bad enough he melted him in the tackle, I'd like to see a bit more class from Baildon.

Talking of lack of class, our linesman politely passed a players scrum cap to the crowd for safe keeping after a passage of play and got rather rudely abused about his sexuality. To my knowledge he isnt a dog nonce either.

We'll have them in the return fixture.

Locked Out

Thanks Lozza for the scores update. Could be a job for you for the future if folks can't wait for my Sunday or Monday posts  ;)

Shame about battle of Bradford bad news. Hopefully embedding into community rugby will help imports adjust to more sporting behaviour.

Ripon made it 4 from 4 and another 5 pointer on the road v Ilkley Barbarians. A final score of 8 - 40 understated Ilkley's contribution to the game, which was pacey and sustained. Again the Ripon forward domination set the platform for success.

Full weekend predictions league update tomorrow.

Just seen a post that a Bees player was subjected to racial abuse from the Baildon crowd, can anyone enlighten?

I'd rather be in t'sunshine!

Locked I've been impressed with Ripon this season so far. When you've got your full squad available you're more than a match for any team in our league.
Bees vs Baildon sounds a bit of carry on - thought that stuff was thing of the past.
I went to watch North at Wharfedale and despite the loss, I was impressed with North who are slowly improving. However I was less impressed with being charged £12 to get in - and no programme. Apparently this charge was because the 1st team were also at home vs Tynedale. Despite protests the chap on the gate was adamant we had to pay that incase we went to watch their first team instead. Strangely some other travelling fans only paid £5 and and also even more strange, one of our players had to pay £5 to get in - wtf 🤦🏻♂️ Another reason this second team malarkey should not be in our leagues.

Dale are desperate for cash as the coffers are almost bone dry. Its having to pay the match fees for the lads from Rotherham (3 of them). If said player was actually charged £5 to get in and play, surely a quick phone call and a not unreasonable request for a refund would be accommodated. They are decent folk Up't dale.

As for the said shenanigens at the "Battle of Bradford" suspect it was two classy clubs reverting to city dwellers behaviour. Maybe the recent new poster "Cummo" can explain what went on, Obviously with a measured view and not a myopic one. As he is self stated as "at the helm" at Bees.

If any truth in the allegations its really not on and needs to be managed forthwith.

I'm sure this was discussed at the recent YRFU conference at Ripon. Bottom line was, no charging for second teams.
"Bother!" said Pooh, as he found his smack had talc in it.

Thanks Avinastella, though the Ripon reps who were at that conference have no recollection of said position on charging. We're looking for a minute to clarify. It does pose a challenge though - most "Standard Y2 clubs" charge admission for 1st XV league matches, regardless of whether they're playing opposition 1st or 2nd XVs. I don't therefore see any precedent for not charging at "higher clubs", as long as the entry fee or donation is around average for Y2 and not Nat 2 or Regional levels.

What if there was a consistent approach to charging admission fees across all clubs in all divisions, imagine that...
