Flaggy, I heard you'd go into R1SW 🤭

I doubt anyone knows what's happening next season with regards to teams and leagues.

ISB emailed a document out this week, mid season review, this gave some indication what 'may' happen but the ROC won't know for sure until season end.
"Bother!" said Pooh, as he found his smack had talc in it.

Pock seemed to be trialling a new tactic yesterday with some random bloke in cream chinos patrolling the pitch at different points in the game. Not quite playing with 16 men but maybe need to consider their crowd control processes. Hope he got back to his care home ok...

Quote from: BigBadWolf69 on Jan 31, 2026, 08:43 PMWetherby well beaten in the end by a well drilled Crocs side. It shows what happens when players all buy in, good turn around from their first 6 games.

Wetherby, struggled to get going in the 2nd half. With only 4 backs (9,10,11,15) they didn't find many opportunities to open Crocs up.

Some big games coming up over the next few weeks.

All fair comments from Mr BBW, lots of possession for Wetherby but they struggled to make any form of line break really.
Crocs still with a couple names not in the team yesterday also. With the next 2 fixtures being Donny (a) and Ponte (h), it could get very interesting in the bottom half of the league

The Scarborough Galacticos were deserved winners on Saturday, well drilled and did the basics better, but were made to work for it by a Pock side that look to be returning to their early season form.

Great game, great crowd, packed clubhouse, proper rugby.

I think they're now clear favourites for the league and the way the players celebrated at full time, suggests they believe that too (not a criticism)

The Whooping has already been mentioned and whilst a bit embarrassing, just shows how much it meant to their squad.

Special mention for two Scarborough players - firstly, D'Artagnan at 14 was very entertaining an caused a good few laughs from both sets of supporters, and I would suggest he could probably cause an argument in an empty room - secondly and probably the highlight of the day, was learning that one of the Scarborough lads had visited our injured player in hospital in the days after his nasty leg break in the game at Silver Royd earlier in the season, a touch of class and the epitome of what rugby values are.

Good to hear about the hospital visit..😊

I agree Scarborough deserved winners on the day, probably played the more flowing rugby.

Good ref - kept the game flowing.

4 yellow cards for Scarborough were unhelpful but the periods were managed well.

Pock were good losers and very gracious. Their stand out player (amongst a few) on the day was Christian Pollock at fullback, very good player and a threat with his boot and running all afternoon.

Scarborough supporters turned up in huge numbers swelling the coffers of the Pock bar (do we get a cut?)

The next two games for Scarborough will probably decide if we will be champions or fighting it out in the playoffs. Nothing being taken for granted. Selby and then Old Brods - both at Silver Royd.

As said in a few posts - what a cracking advert for community grassroots rugby at level 6.

🤣🤣🤣🤣

It seems the Pock match reporter counts people's fingers and toes too!

"With a crowd in excess of a thousand people looking on, this eagerly awaited clash between second placed Pocklington in Regional 2 North-East and league leaders Scarborough was a tough encounter."

Unless he was counting the Scarborough supporters watching on VEO live???

Mixed Fortunes but Women Stay Top of League
It was a tough day for Pocklington as the First XV went down 22 - 33 to league leaders Scarborough at Percy Road, the Panthers lost at Scarborough 34 - 26 but the Pilgrims put on a great performance to win 3 - 12 by the sea.
On Sunday Pocklington Women put on a great show at Malton & Norton, winning 5 - 20 on a heavy pitch and staying on top of their league.
With a crowd in excess of a thousand people looking on, this eagerly awaited clash between second placed Pocklington in Regional 2 North-East and league leaders Scarborough was a tough encounter. Scarborough seized the initiative early in the match with two converted tries but were pegged back towards the end of the first half with Matty Downes going over in the corner after picking the ball up from the base of a five metre scrum. Christian Pollock added the conversion and a subsequent penalty, to leave the score 10 - 14 at the break.
Scarborough dominated the third quarter and despite two great tries from Pocklington towards the end from Andy Argo-Bennett (pictured) and Louis Sangwin, they added three further tries to open up an unassailable lead and cement their place at the top of the league.
One bright spot for Pocklington was the return to action, in the last ten minutes, of James Thompson after a long injury lay off during which Pocklington lost their early season momentum.
Next up is Wetherby away on February 14th followed by Doncaster Phoenix at home on 28th.
There are blank weekends for the First XV on the 7th and 21st for the Guinness 6 Nations which will all be screened in the clubhouse, starting this Thursday with France v Ireland at 8.10pm
Come and watch the games on our large screens and enjoy a drink at heavily discounted prices' including bitter at £2.50 a pint, lager at £3 and Guinness at £3.50.

1) "Whooping by players".
I suspect it's something imported from the southern hemisphere. To see grown men whooping and screaming like 5 year old primary school girls is nauseating! At least if a try is scored it's for a reason (but unnecessary) however its become normal for a whooping frenzy to follow an opposition forward pass or a good scrum by your own team. I heard one playschool screaming outburst following a very average kick for touch that made about 20 meters. Come on guys!

It did sound like there were thousands there, what with all the hollering and whooping from your players and coaching staff. As you observed in the above post Mr. Bandit, perhaps it is a southern hemisphere thing.  😂

backrowbandit

You'll find no disagreement from me regarding whooping....I've made my feelings clear.
