With the fixtures now out and pre season all but here, I thought I'd ask what people's opinions on the season are.  How will Dearne valley and Hornsea get on coming up from Y4 will they be able to hold their own ?!!

How will Hemsworth get on after a tricky season last year !

Will one team dominate or will it be a season that anyone can beat anyone.

Anyone signed any serious talent for the new season.

Favourite to go up ? Who's going to have a tough season and be near the bottom ?
Anyone got a dark horse that could surprise a few teams ?

Would be keen to hear people's thoughts. All i know is that it's going to be an exciting season. Roll on the 6th September

Think Wheatley, Leeds Corinth and WPL will fancy their chances. I think it could be a fairly open league though looking forward to it.

HandsInTheRuck

Wheatley Hills will be up there.

West Park will be pushing to get back into Yorks 2, especially now their local derby have been promoted above them. West Park will be attracting the Leeds Beckett students with some kit and beer tokens.

Skipton may be a dark horse.

I feel Hemsworth may do the double drop unfortunately, they really struggled last year.

Garmr

Big money back down cass with ex pro player coach and Craig Jeffles and Mikey Hayward. they will deffo fancy it this season.

Flaggy

Surely Jeffels is not donning his boots again. Always was attracted by a few quid. Good luck to him and Cas.
FORMERLY Ribbflagman.

Top two to be from South Yorkshire Wheatley Hills and Dearne Valley.

Not to sound rude or dumb but where have Dearne valley come from have the formed out of another team folding or are they just a new team.

Dearne Valley Bulldogs was a rugby league club formed in 2001. They obtained a lease on their Ings Lane ground in 2012 and have built new changing rooms and improved the clubhouse. In 2023 a rugby union section was formed and the club joined the Yorkshire Merit League. They joined Yorkshire Four South at the beginning of the 2024/25 season.

And an interesting appointment of vice chairman.
"Bother!" said Pooh, as he found his smack had talc in it.

Stumbling in the dark a bit here, with only having knowledge from playing against eight of the clubs, some thoughts:

Barno - as a city side with their facilities, shouldn't be here and need to sort something out soonish. Can't see them doing it in one season, so maybe mid-table?

Burley - unknown quantity to me, but made strong showing last season, so could be a top three contender.

Cash - if politics and pay issues resolved, could be contenders. Is there much competition locally with Cleck hopefuls? Maybe a deal to be done there?

Dearne - again unknown but seemingly on the right track. How much competition with Wath and possibly Barno though. Go for mid-table.

Whomsworth - depending on retention efforts, could stabilise but maybe a candidate for Y4, or whatever nonsense happens next season?

Hornsea - another unknown to me but one way or another - carry on pressing for promotion, or bounce back down. Top or bottom three.

Leeds saints - showed well but also liable to implode. Don't think they have enough to be serious contenders for other than mid-table.

Phoenix nights - again an unknown quantity to me and possibly remaining anonymous in mid-table here?

Sheep sha**ers - a team lost in the wilderness, with high and mighty attractions all around in the dales. May have to be resigned to being a feeder club for the bigger boys.

Bog Trotters - "we could have been contenders", apart from being in the swampy bit of Yorkshire, with no attractions, jobs or reasons to play rugby here. Destined to stay here, somewhere in the middle.

West Park England - oh how the mighty are fallen! With top notch facilities and connections, this is a bad joke and a bad place to try and socialise. Like Barno - do something to get yourselves out of there. Probable top three.

Weatos - the team we love to hate and again from their illustrious past, shouldn't be here. No idea what their rebuilding plans are but came close last season. My favourite for promotion.

I see cas got a good victory over Hornsea yesterday in the cup, were Both teams at full strength ? Was it just a glorified warm up game ?

Anyone from those clubs on here, or even heard of this?
