National Cup Weekend 20/9/25

After 2 league games we now have 2 weekends of Cup games.

This weekend is the National Cup

In the Counties 3 Championship we Have :

Dearne Valley vs Wheatley Hills
Hornsea vs Wallsend (Durham & Northumberland 3)
Oldham (Lancashire & Cheshire 3) vs Hemsworth


Then in the Counties 3 plate we have :

Barnsley vs Maltby (Yorkshire 4 South)
Chesterfield Panthers (Counties 4 Midlands East) vs Rotherham Phoenix
Cleethorpes (Counties 3 Midlands East) vs Thornensians
Skipton vs Burley

West Park Leeds, Leeds Corinthians & Castleford Don't have a game (well according to the RFU website, I apologise if this isn't correct).

Hopefully all the Yorkshire 3 teams win were possible 🏉🏉!!

Looking at the England rugby fixtures Saturday 27th has three games in the Yorkshire Silver Trophy:

Barnsley v Wheatley Hills
Bramley v Whitby
Castleford v Rotherham

Unsure of how the cup structure works now!

Ignore me, its a different cup. What cups/ plates/ championships will the remaining teams be in? WPL, LC & Ca$h

They might not be in the cup. I think teams decide pre season if they want to enter the cup or not.

Or they might have a bye in the first round !!

In the national cup I think the championship must be drawn  first then the rest get drawn in the plate

In the Counties 3 Championship we have:

Dearne Valley vs Wheatley Hills: Not exactly a local Derby but a small enough distance for Weatos to travel and win comfortably. WH +7

Hornsea vs Wallsend (Durham & Northumberland 3): Can't see this going ahead and as long as Hornsea hold their nerve, going for a HWO.

Oldham (Lancashire & Cheshire 3) vs Hemsworth: Opposite of the above and banter aside, I'd be surprised if Hems could raise the enthusiasm and squad to travel the distance. It pains me not to vote for Yorkshire, but HWO.


Then in the Counties 3 plate we have :

Barnsley vs Maltby (Yorkshire 4 South): Barno all over this like a rash +7

Chesterfield Panthers (Counties 4 Midlands East) vs Rotherham Phoenix: Will Phoenix nights travel - it's not that far? Backing RP -7

Cleethorpes (Counties 3 Midlands East) vs Thornensians: If Thorne can travel, see them smashing the redcoats in a hi de hi away win. Thorne +7

Skipton vs Burley: Toughest game of the day and have to go with home advantage. Skips -7

As of now (Wednesday evening) all Yorkshire 3 teams are still playing this weekend but a lot of others games around the country have being awarded a walkover. I think the rfu just need to get rid of the cup.

Out of the 32 games in counties 3 Championship this weekend 12 have already being Cancelled with probably a few more announced before Saturday.

Nothing really to write home about today, one for the purest at Skipton I'm guessing, big shock at Barnsley with Maltby getting a big win. Any reports ?

Yorkshire Cup next week before the leagues returns on the 4th October
