Doncaster vs. Morley - Morley has lost two on the spin and will try to take out their frustration on Doncaster. I can't see anything other than a big Morley win. Morley +7.

Pontefract vs. Moortown - I expect a good game. I think Pontefract's pack will have the edge, but given both teams' starts, this could go either way. Pontefract -7.

Scarborough vs. Pocklington - A chance for both teams to test themselves and get an idea of where they are at. Scarborough seem to be the strongest team thus far, which is why I back them to win. Scarborough +7.

Wetherby vs. Old Crossleyans - Crocs have run all teams close this year and seem to be more competitive than they were last year. Wetherby's confidence will be up after a big win last week and they are usually strong at home. Wetherby +7.

Bradford Salem vs. Malton & Norton - Tough to call. My head tells me that Malton will win, but Bradford Salem are usually good at home on their small pitch. A close one, going to go with Salem -7.

Old Brods vs. Selby - This will be another good game. Selby ran it close last week and I am sure will be looking to put things right. But Brods, at home. Brods -7.

Good luck everyone, let's see if the balti massive (Moortown) can get a run going

Bettyswollocks

Phoenix v Morley
Morley have had a tough start to the season and will need a win here to get back on track. If they are anywhere near full strength they will comfortably win.

Pontefract v Moortown
Interesting game here and a tough one to call. I think Ponte will win with home advantage but there will only be a score in it.

Scarborough v Pock
Undoubtedly the game of the day with 1st playing 2nd. Scarbs are difficult to beat at home, but Pock have already shown they can travel by winning at Brods. I'm tipping Pock to win by a point and have a quiet bus home.

Wetherby v Old Crocs
Can't see Crocs having much luck here, Wetherby are good at home and I think this will be a comfortable home win.

$alem v Malton
$alem are heavily reliant on their ex-NRL stars, if they play they will win. But with only 1 playing last week and no sign of the others, I think Malton will rally and pick up an invaluable away win here.

Brods v Selby
Good match up this, with two solid outfits. Brods away is never easy, but Selby nearly picked up a victory at Pock last week. I think Brods home advantage will be enough, a high scoring game with bonus points.

Doncaster vs. Morley - Ive seen Morley but not Donny. Even though Morley were off colour at Silver Royd I expect them to have a comfortable win based on the results to date.

Pontefract vs. Moortown - Moortown away aren't generally the same team as they are at home, even though they've improved. I'm going for Pontes pack to have the edge and win feisty encounter.

Scarborough vs. Pocklington - A great test for both teams, it's so hard to gauge where you are until you've played a full set of matches. As ever available players for both teams will have an effect. I'm disappointed to be missing but will keep a close an on VEO. Too close to call, could go either way.

Wetherby vs. Old Crossleyans - Crocs will continued to be stood up at the alter with a battling but ultimately losing performance. I think Wetherby will pull away in the last 20mins to a large win.

Bradford Salem vs. Malton & Norton - Two sluggers of teams thrashing out an arm wrestle without too much rugby being played. There's an arguement for either side winning but on balance I'm going for a tight home win.

Old Brods vs. Selby - Selby continue to improve (players returning from injury??). But not improving enough to trouble Brods at home who will enjoy a decent win.

Note: my pre-season prediction for the top sides were Pock, Wetherby and Morley. Whilst Morley might be disappointing the other two are going gangbusters.

Phoenix v Morley - All the smart money would be on Morley but i keep expecting Phoenix to throw up the odd shock result especially at home, so i am going to buck the trend and go for a very narrow phoenix win.

Pontefract v Moortown - Based on home advantage taking ponty for the win.

Scarborough v pock - Would love to watch this game and should be an epic battle expecting a less than one try difference and going for the additional experience from the Scarborough old heads to see them over the line.

Wetherby v Old Cross  - As always backing my own team, going for a wetherby win.

Salem v Malton - Taking Salem based on home advantage.

Brods v Selby - Think if this was first game of season i would have been backing selby but based on early results i think i will back Brods here (very rare that anyone beyond the eventual top two sides gets a result out of a visit to brods)

Doncaster vs Morley - Doncaster seem to be the leagues whipping boys which is a shame as it could lead a freefall down the leagues if they're not careful. Morley +7.

Pontefract vs Moortown - Pontefract impossible to predict and so are Moortown. I think Moortown edge out a small away win. Moortown -7. Are moortown still playing an exciting brand of rugby and are pontefract still a grunty upfront beast?

Scarborough vs Pocklington - Blockbuster game and expect a large crowd at Silver Royd. Will you get more than 500 BackRowBandit? Scarborough +7. Has Ben Foden made an big impact?

Wetherby vs Old Crossleyans - Wetherby +7 and a bit of a formality here. Wetherby on the balance seem the team I think will push Scarborough this year.

Salem vs Malton - an interesting encounter this all depends on Salem XV and I'll take the gamble they have more superstars this week. Salem -7.

Old Brodleians vs Selby - Selby improving at a rate of knots and will look to get under the skin of Brods who have had some fragile looking results, but still fancy them at home. Brods -7.

Oldandslow

Donny P v Morley – Phoenix need to find a win from somewhere to get their season started but I can't see it being against Morley. Morley bonus point win.

Ponte v Moortown – I can make a case for both sides winning and think the result will depend on the strength of the teams on the day. So with no confidence if Pontefract are near to full strength then just a home win but won't be surprised if I'm wrong.

Scarborough v Pock – MOTD home advantage just the difference, Scarborough win.

Wetherby v Old Crocs – Wetherby by plenty.

Brad Salem v M&N – League positions would say M&N but I think Salen will win to kick start their season.

O Brods v Selby – Bonus point home win.

I'm gutted I'm missing it. The crowd will be in excess of 500. Depending on the lunch size we are around that or more most weeks.

Ben is a lovely bloke without any airs and graces at all. Hes added a lot. Not so much in improved coaching as we had/have good coaches anyway who have all stayed part of his team. He's just bringing a different perspective and approach. He's also doing a super job at Scarborough College (as is Matty Jones), across the board wins at all age groups against Pocklington School and Hymers College as well as beating Ampleforth in recent weeks all bode well.

Forty Twenty

This week has some serious 50/50 games and the predictions are a real struggle - good luck everyone!!

Anyway here we go:

Donny v Morley – Routine win for Morley. I think Donny really are going to struggle this season unless they start to gather a win or 2 soon. Morley +7

Ponte v Moortown – I think this has potential to be a thrilling game. After watching Moortown play some of the most exciting rugby i've seen in a long time in the first half against Donny last week at Far moss i fancy them to carry this on against the Ponte heavy pack this week - it will be a close game. Moortown -7

Scarborough v Pock – as everyone else has said definitely MOTD. having seen both teams at Far Moss this season Scarborough look the more complete package, however the raw pock power will cause Scarborough some problems. With the big Scarborough crowd behind them i'm going to go Scarborough -7. Won by a last minute score.

Wetherby v Old Crocs – Old Crocs look to be more and more unlucky as the weeks go by. I do think they'll have to wait another week for a win. Wetherby -7

$alem v M&N – $alem team sheet only contains the 1 NRL centre again this week are the funds for shay lane and the players drying up? Very little rugby to be played in Bradford this week in a battle of attrition i suspect. Salem -7 at home.

O Brods v Selby - Selby's results have got better each week, however i think the Brods mountain may be too much for Selby to overcome. Brods -7

Good to see Scarborough v Pock is being played by all three teams.

1sts at Silver Royd

2nds and 3rds away at Pock.

Scarborough taking 40 players on a coach for the 2nds and 3rds.
Loving all rugby but especially at grassroots level.

BRB - great advert for rugby. Fair play to both teams.

Can any other teams in the league field 3 teams?

BenFoden’s grey beard

Brods every week with far more local competition than those two clubs
