Pockroach

From what I can understand, if Pocklington go up, Old Rishworthians will stay in Yorkshire 1, so only two teams will be relegated to Yorkshire 1? All very confusing and should be made clear before the season starts in my opinion.

If Pock go up then no more than 2 teams will be relegated from Y1. If 11th place in the league above also manage to get a reprieve then only one will be relegated from Y1.

Potential to become more confusing as Selby have moved out of a relegation place in R1. If they avoid the drop there is the possibility of a level transfer or two within the leagues.
Some at Rochdale yesterday seemed to prefer moving back west whilst others seemed to prefer to stay on this side of the hill.

I see old rish are the latest side to be begging for money on a fundraiser shame really as if they wasn't wasting money on their 5 imports where they have had no value they would have already been halfway there :o

Also hoping Pock go up but after talking to a contact from there today it appears that if Clifton 2s beat Cleeve in the last game then cleeve will get the last runner up spot which will mean that all six second promotion places will go to teams with inferior records to Pocklington who will have finished runners up to second teams. I dont care what Differ boy says. It would be a bloody travesty. Come on you Pock boys.
If ever there was a warning sign that the bigger clubs will get stronger, if admitted to the Yorkshire leagues, and the rest left to wither on the vine, this is surely it.

I'm not sure which rock you are living under. The crowdfunder is purely for changing rooms and showers, which are desperately needed, and a members bar. Without RFU funding we already have raised a significant amount.

It's a very nice rock with a great view actually, all im saying is similar to Bradford salems "unexpected bills" last year if old rish wasn't spending money on your 3 islanders a south African 10 and rangi who has been there for a few years now you might not have needed the crowdfunder or been a little further on with you're budget that's all especially when none of them have added anything to your squad and there's still a chance of relegation seems like a big waste of money for little gain 💰

Fredsbar

To compare Old Rishworthian's with Bradford Salem is farcical. Just for your information, which you clearly don't have, Old Rishworthians have no debt, own all of their two pitches and club house. We have a strategy with a very strong Mini and Junior section and two Colts teams.

I might give it to you that if Pock finish second and are the best 2nd place team in the country, whilst 6 sides go up because of a technicality that it could be classed as a travesty. They have clearly had an outstanding season

Nothing wrong with a bit of humility at last Differ. Thanks for the recognition. Good luck next week.

Odd because Clifton IIs play Burnham on Sea whilst Cleve play Old Redcliffians IIs
That said, Clifton have what looks like the easier fixture of the two so things could end up that way anyway.
Conspiracy regarding results anyone? 😉

QuoteIf that strategy is to waste money on players that add nothing to your team heckle other teams when they are 30 points down to them and don't seem to care when you lose then that's a great strategy been way too easy to get a bite but all im getting at is the amount spent on players when it's probably not warranted or needed could have been invested back into the club or on getting those colts etc into the first team and building something rather than a quick fix never works in the long term look at sides like Bingley brid and so on over the years and even beverley many years ago creates a hollow core and any good local talent gets taken by other clubs or loses interest

On another note good luck to Pock you have played some great rugby this year and more than deserve promotion been a credit all year

My info was provided from a conversation with somebody from Pock today. Sorry if he got it wrong.
