Big congratulations to all connected with Yarnbury on their well deserved win against us in the Shield final yesterday. They started like a house on fire and were 20-0 up in as many minutes. We got back into the game and scored two converted tries before having what looked like a score levelling try disallowed on the stroke of the interval.
We never really got back into it as Yarnbury scored first in the second half to take the game away from us. A very disappointing end to an unbelievable season, but congratulations to Yarnbury as a club. I personally did go down onto the pitch after the trophy presentation to congratulate their players as their victory was, on the day, well deserved.
Good day all round except for the beer pumps running dry before we even arrived and a distinct lack of bar staff.
