Regional 1 North East / Re: Cleck relegated
Last post by Differ Lid - Today at 01:21 PM
I don't think many players in the league will be disappointed about not having to go to Cleckheaton next season, it has been the toughest away games for many sides over the years.
Looking at the 3 teams they are regularly fielding, along with some current colts getting exposure in the 1st team (including another Piper), if this has been a tough rebuild year they could be in for a steadier rebuild next season. Given the difficulty most sides face travelling to Cleck they will no doubt be up there, even if they don't bounce straight back.
Best of luck to them in Regional 2, as a club they appear to be doing things the right way, and relegation could be exactly what they need for the new group of players coming through.

Regional 1 North East / Cleck relegated
Last post by Master_Knowledge - Today at 12:20 PM
I know the writing has been on the wall a while now but with it now mathematically confirmed, how do we think Cleck will fair in the league below?
Will they be targeting an immediate return or are they in need of a longer, steadier rebuild?
Will they keep hold of their more established players?

Lots for the club to consider.

Regional 2 North East / Re: Play-offs
Last post by PercyR - Today at 12:16 PM
Can't wait for the play-offs, I've already packed my bag. If results stay consistent then by my reckoning Pock could be away to either Consett or West Bridgford, Notts, in round 3 then go to Penrith in round 4. Just like old times - a round Britain end-of-season tour, happy days!

Pretty decent write up on the York site for the Gate vs York match.
Very one sided affair, but plenty of endeavour from York.
Will be an interesting end to the season at the top and bbottom

Of course it's disappointing that any player has suffered an injury, however to call the tackle horrific is incorrect.

From the sideline the tackler dipped their height and wrapped their arms, and the ball carrier dropped their height (looked like they slipped) going in to contact.

An unfortunate rugby incident, yes. A horrific, disappointing foot note from the game, no. Would be interesting to see the Veo.

On the rest of the game, a spirited performance by a Wetherby team still blighted by injuries with many players out of position. Scarborough were disappointed by their performance, however Wetherby's tactics of competing at the breakdown and not letting them retain easy possession seemed to fluster the visitors and earned Wetherby some very valuable points.

The Glove Mans Round Recap

Beverley 12 vs Keighley 36 - Bit disappointing from the beavers here. I thought they would have put up a bit more fight than the scoreline suggests. But then again they have been average all year so not shocked. Less wood more rugby I suggest, if they want to make it out of the danger zone.

Dinnington 68 vs Hull 8 - I said +70 as a joke but Hull really are pants. I bet Dinno are annoyed they even got 1 try passed them. Hull have fallen off harder than the English national team in recent months. They could be in some serious risk of the dreaded relegation.

Goole 38 vs Harrogate 26 - Meh nothing exciting. Scoreline is about as suspected, sounds a decent match up.

Wensleydale 34 vs Old Rish 34 - This sounded a cracking match and a friend from Dale told me it was equalised with the last play of the game. Rish will be over the moon with 3 points after looking back at past results with Dinno and Wath being the only 2 to travel to the land of the sheep and come away with more than 2 points. Rish have now strung a few good games together and seemingly a top half finish really is looking more possible.

West Leeds 66 vs Leodiensian 18 - Leos are Shit.

Yarnbury 24 vs Wath 40 - Looked a tight game with half time score being 12-14 to Wath and seems Wath just out classed the aviation merchants in the second 40.

Yours in Rugby,
The Glove Man
