Two big sides, so lots of collisions and contact.

Pock pulled away and deserved their win.

Very disappointed with Morley who I assume were missing a few.

My general takeaway from the match was that both sides would be physically fine in the league above (perhaps better suited than Scarborough) but there was a total lack of any creativity or independent thought from either side. There seemed to be an absolute determination to run into contact at every opportunity.

It was almost a microcosm of the English rugby approach.

If Pock are away to Consett in the semi-final it will be a very difficult match for them but winnable.

Good observation BRB, Morley were missing 3 backs from the side at Old Brods.

I thought the lads who stepped up did the shirt proud and I think that both have futures at this level, nevertheless by my reckoning that was our 10th and 11th player 'selection' at Centre this season.
Although our 13 today is one of our 1st choice wingers.

We've had a campaign where in terms of injuries nothing has gone our way.

I think the luck with injuries often decides promotion and relegation.
Loving all rugby but especially at grassroots level.

From speaking to the Morley representatives, I believe Morley have used 54 players during this seasons campaign at first team level, it does make you wonder what other teams numbers look like on that front...

If it becomes inappropriate the Mod can intervene.

Agree and I will say excellent by the voluntary administrators of this forum to take action in removing posts. Our game is made of voluntary activists taking time out of their lives to facilitate our game and this forum is no different. Well done

There is nothing of concern at the moment.
If action is taken by the club then i will lock it. And yes, i will know.
Of bigger concern is the meme on facebook. Now that is insensitive.

I assume the meme has since been removed? Was it innocent but taken the wrong way or done on purpose?

In other news, Pocklington vs Consett, are Pocklington confirmed as the team at home? Expect Pocklington to be favourites but complacency can kill.

Pock confirmed at home, and while we may be accused of many things e.g. uncreative or incapable of independent thought, being complacent isn't one of them. 😂

Deserved victory for Pock, they played well.

As a team they well organised and took their opportunities well.

Pretty equal up front and look dangerous when it went wide.

Same as last week with regards to the referee and ARs, who had good games generally.

I will start a separate thread regarding the pre-conceived ideas of the officials before the game and how it influences how the game is managed.

Entertaining game Jim, I thought the yellow card for your player was a bit harsh, and while I get the logic as to why our lad got 10 mins, I've seen a lot worse tackles than that go unpunished this year.

.
Certainly wasn't innocent and it was posted under the club account.

Not a good look then. Assumed it was by one of the players.

Deffo not an innocent post. By all accounts it was the wetherby player involved in the incident on top of a crocodile. Whoever posted it, knew what they were doing

Just chipping in, Ripon playing in Y2 have selected 51 players in all for 1st XV matches this season, probably more playing members than a lot of clubs? Not a brag, just an observation. Interestingly, the club selected 35 different players including 8 club/senior debuts before the Christmas break and just 16 different players, also including another 8 debuts post - Christmas. The club's results post-Christmas speak for themselves and indicate that a stable squad (assuming they're any good) will win more matches.
