I see Chris Moore - played in county final two years ago for Yorkshire is playing against Wath 2nds today.

Must be a safety issue when an experienced level 4 is propping against lads that are probably level 10 at best. Thought more of Heath.

Do we know what the ruling is yet about movement between teams?

To old to run

A

Hull +7
Bev -7
Leo's +7
North -7
Malton -7

B

BB +7
Hlh +7
Sheffield +7

Id love that experience but by gum I feel for his opposing prop. A ever constant figure in their first team!  Shame clubs do it.

I'd rather be in t'sunshine!

Apologies to Harrogate today - I wrongly assumed they would squeeze in a couple of 1st teamers in search of their first win but apparently not.
North squeezed through 22-19.

The only reason someone that plays a majority of first team rugby will be playing twos is for game time or they're not selected for the ones.

Case in point Chris Moore, not in the squad for the last two first team games, so playing twos today - thats how clubs should work. Heath aren't chucking him in to win the game, but to get game time after not playing. No affiliation with Heath either.

Cant see any of the clubs further up the leagues using yorkshire two for anything more than to developing players at a better standard than merit league rugby

Ripit

If its a FR and they are short then its allowed.

Hello all. Longtime since I commented.
Really good to see plenty of folks commenting.
I am an ex Sheffield rugby player and coach. Looked after our 2s when I couldn't walk anymore. Don't know much about rugby (unlike Backrow Bandit), as was more of a kit man/driver/picker upper.
Lots of love xxxx
We are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the Stars.

I think you're all missing the point. Genuine Y2 teams are not allowed to 'loan' level 4 players. So why are there different rules for teams that are in the same league?

Morgan very quiet on here as his own team and his own new league structure crumble in unison.

SycamoreMan1959

There's a lot of complaining about second teams and their players like they are South African internationals and not also amateur players training twice a week.

Park are loving the challenge (and a few players coming into our shop window 🤭😉)

PS see you boys soon

That's an interesting point regarding loan players compared to within club movement....
Loving all rugby but especially at grassroots level.

Leagues Apart

::)  Chris Moore has been out injured for weeks and weeks... surely thats EXACTLY what a second team is for? I assume he needs match fitness and to test his readyness to play...Or should they throw him straight back into the Nat Leagues?

Pot bellied prop

He was last named in their squad on the 2nd October. Would hardly call that weeks and weeks. Do we think if there was a 1st team game this week he'd have still been named in the 2nd team squad?

Not trying to say Heath have done anything wrong but certainly raises questions when as mentioned above Yorkshire 2 sides can't loan level 4 players but several teams in this league can borrow from 1st teams. Some even in level 3

Three weeks... he got injured in that game at Tynesdale, hasnt played and barely trained since.

He was always gonna play a 2nd team game or two before going back into firsts.

Locked Out

Ripon happy with three out of the last three and a 90 - 0 demolition of Malton & Norton 2nds. Despite the horrible conditions, both sides wanted to play rugby and did, just M&N couldn't do anything with their possession.

Fair play to the visitors for sticking it out and resisting to the end. Well done also for staying for beers etc after the match.

Not going to stick my neck out regarding Ripon's prospects for the rest of the season, as it all depends on play availability and commitment to training etc. First time in about three seasons that Ripon fielded a side with only one change in the starting line up from previous week, so looking quite good.

Deliberately missing the point.
