Is it too early to start looking at predictions for title winners next year?

I think it's wide open but interested to see what you all think?

My top 6 (considering play off format), in no order.

Morley, Brods, Scarbados, Wetherby, Selby & Ponte.

Scarborough will want that number 1 spot

Pocklington might surprise a few coming up from Y1

Doesn't every team?
Loving all rugby but especially at grassroots level.

We would have loved to have the chance to have a pop at some our Yorkshires top community clubs. However Terry Burwell and his cronies thought differently so we will have to ply our trade in Lancashire and Cheshire at great expense that they dont seem to care about. Good luck to all you sterling clubs. Will keep in touch as I dont think there is a forum on t'other side.

Flaggy it's well documented that the club's you wanted to have a pop at were further north and west than
Yorkshire.

Not really Davie,
would just have been happy to play clubs we have had good relationships with for many years. However we are looking forward, not back, to making new friends and acquaintances next season.

Had there been any further news about playoffs?

From RFU

In collaboration with the Adult Comps
From the 2025/26 season, play-offs will be introduced in both National and Regional men's leagues.
In the Men's National leagues, there will be promotion/relegation play-offs between National 1 and the Championship, and between National 1 and National 2.
In the Men's Regional Leagues, there will be promotion/relegation play-offs between Regional 1 and Regional 2, and play-offs for promotion into National 2. As a result, the current cup competition model will be removed for these levels.
These changes mean that for this coming season, there will be more meaningful matches throughout the entire season and clubs will be able to generate more revenue through competitive, exciting rugby right up to the final whistle of the league campaign.
Further updates will follow direct to all clubs involved.

And that is a right load of old pony.
Burwell acting like it is up to him alone what goes on.
I doubt we'll ever see or hear him explain how a team finishing fifth in their respective league will generate more income when all their games will be away - if they bother to participate or make it past the first game.
"Bother!" said Pooh, as he found his smack had talc in it.

I was on a teams/zoom meeting that had three regional 2 divisions represented,(North west, southwest and Midlands, I think) North Ribb were one of only three/four teams in total represented and we all stated that if the RFU insisted on imposing these meaningless playoffs they should only be between second and third placed teams. I did state that whatever the clubs want nobody at HQ ever seems to listen to. Mr Burwell was on that meeting and it seems that he still has a problem listening to the clubs he is supposed to represent. There was about 10 bigwigs from the RFU on said meeting who all seemed to nod there heads in agreement to Mr Burwells extremely lengthy report on why our season should be extended to the end of May, when he also expressed the result of a survey that said players wanted to play less rugby. WHAT A LOAD OF BOLL****  That is why I appeal to clubs in Yorkshire to give me some support in the vacancy to represent you all on the RFU council so that our voices will at least get heard.

You know what I mean, after missing out last year, they should be hungry for it

I'll be very interested to see how Pocklington fare. They're a side with no obvious weaknesses or particular strengths if that makes sense? It's not meant to sound harsh when I say they didn't really have any standout players for me, more that they are extremely effective as a team and how they play. Big, heavy, well drilled pack with a strong set piece. Well organised backline with a mix of pace and power. Half backs that move them around the pitch really well. They remind me a lot of the Wetherby side that went up 2 years ago and could have a similar impact on the table.

I think it would be wrong to write off Selby, I'm not sure if they've lost any players after being in the shop window last year?

Pock will be strong and tough to beat at home. I see that Morley have been heavy on recruitment over the summer.

Scarborough, will be up there for sure.

Let's also remember how good Salem were at the start of last season. If they have their cheque book out again they could be clear favourites.

The Doncaster rugby league lads have been cleared to play for Salem again this year , after being banned for the latter part of last season. Contributed a lot to the their success

Wont bother you boys Mr Roll. You will acquit yourselves very well I am sure and we hope to make youe acquaintance again in the 26 season. As long as that dictator Terry Burwell doesnt f+++ us over again.
What a dictating plonker with no realisation of what is is really involved at our level. Lest see!!!!!
