Bradford S vs Doncaster
This one depends on who Salem have available. It should be tightly contested, but I'm edging Salem, just.

Moortown vs Scarborough
Two sides who don't much like each other. Town will have a big crowd behind them, but Scarborough to scrape it. Scarborough W.

Crocs vs Pocklington
Pock have started really well and fancy their chances this year. They won't have it all their own way here. Draw.

Pontefract vs Brods
A good, physical game between two similar teams. I think Ponte's backs are underrated, and I'll back them here. Ponte W.

Malton & Norton vs Wetherby
M&N are always strong at home with big support. Wetherby have started well but might not be fully happy with their performances. Expect them to kick on with a BP win. Wetherby BP Win.

Morley vs Selby
A test for both teams to see where they're at. It should be close, but with home advantage, Morley edge it. Morley W.

oldtimerugby

Bradford S vs Doncaster
Will the end of the league season signify some new faces at Salem? Even without them, I suspect home advantage may just see them across the line. Salem by a couple.

Moortown vs Scarborough
Scarborough seem to have started very well and I can't see anything than a win for them. Moortown usually have some good backs but believe Scarbs are a more complete package.

Crocs vs Pocklington
Pock shouldn't be too complacent in this one. If they get their big pack firing on the road then it should be enough to see them home. Pick win.

Pontefract vs Brods
Big forwards and a tough crowd as always at Pontefract. Not sure Brods will enjoy the hostile environment too much. Ponte win but not by many.

Malton & Norton vs Wetherby
Wetherby had a good athletic young team last season which saw them do very well. However, M&N prefer the grit and grind which I think may give them the edge in this one. Malton win.

Morley vs Selby
Has the makings of a very good game. Can Morley get their set piece firing? If they do, their exciting backs should see them home. Morley by a few.

Oldandslow

Brad Salem v Donny P – Two sides looking to get their first win of the season, Salem took Wetherby close last Saturday so I can only see a home bonus point win.

Moortown v Scarborough – Moortown also looking for their first win cannot see it happening on Saturday. Scarborough win by plenty.

Old Crocs v Pock – Much closer game than league positions would suggest. Taking Pocklington to win a close game but won't be surprised if I'm wrong.

Ponte v Old Brods – I'm told this is one of the longest standing traditional West Riding fixtures. With no confidence just going for a home win but will be close I expect.

M&N v Wetherby – Wetherby to just shade a close game.

Morley v Selby – Another very close game with home advantage just making the difference.

ponte animal

Bradford S vs Doncaster
Two very poor results for Donny doesn't bode well and fully expect a very comfortable home win.

Moortown vs Scarborough
Expected better results for Town so far and with this in mind Scabs to do the business with an odd home BP.

Crocs vs Pocklington
Great start for Pock so far but will find Crocs unhospitable (on the pitch) and could be a close home win.

Pontefract vs Brods
Great win for Ponte last week but this will be a different proposition. One score in it either way but keeping the faith.

Malton & Norton vs Wetherby
Another close one. Malton seem to be ok this year and will have enough just.

Morley vs Selby
Great match ups all round. Going for home advantage.

FlankSinatra

Salem +7 - Understand superstars are back

Scarborough +7 - League Favs? Moortown have had a rocky start

Pock + 7 - wander if they're back to strength? 'Pock fans happy with the result as we had 4 first team starters unavailable for selection' if so should be a very easy win

Ponte/Brods - Draw, two teams who will be there or thereabouts the top 6 come the season close

Wetherby +7 - fantastic start to continue

Morley +7 - shouldn't be too much car trouble so will get a full 18 out this weekend

BigBadWolf69

Salem - Easy W if the above is correct.

Scarborough - On paper, should be pretty routine. But you never know what Moortown are going to turn up.

Crocs - Been raining all week, might be a leveller that crocs need.

Brods - Tight one, could go either way.

Wetherby - Might this be the weekend it clicks?

Morley - Routine W at home.

old style prop

Brad Salem v Donny P – backing salem at home to get the win.

Moortown v Scarborough – hard to see past a scarborough win but away points always hard to get so would not be shocked with a Moortown win but have to go for Scarborough to bag the 5 points.

Old Crocs v Pock – on early season form hard to see past a Pock win.

Ponte v Old Brods – could be a cracker backing home adv to prove the difference and a Ponte win.

M&N v Wetherby – This was a cracker last season and looking forward to hopefully as good a game this saturday, as always backing Wetherby to take the points.

Morley v Selby – Looks a cracker going for home adv to tell here with a Morley win.

Side question just seen an advert on one of the rugby recruitment pages for a yorkshire based level 6 club chasing a couple fo overseas forwards. Just for fun wonder which club in our league will be the latest to flush money down the drain on flights etc. Answers on a postcard please :)

Now then, Now then!

Bradford Salem vs Doncaster Phoenix
Despite being nulled in week one, Salem proved they have dog in them from what the scoreline shows at Wetherby. The return of the Bradford Bruisers to Shay Lane will be a massive boost for the home side too. Donny have yet to get going this season and will need a big turnaround to trouble Salem.
Salem +7

Moortown vs Scarborough
Whether or not Town have players returning I can't see them stopping Scarborough's momentum.
Scarborough +7

Old Crossleyans vs Pocklington
Crocs are 0-2, but performances haven't been poor, just missed out on derby day on the hill and took a credible loss away at Morley. If Pock turn up with the wrong mentality, then they could see the scoreboard run away from them with the home side itching to get the ball rolling this season.

Pontefract vs Brods
Brods with a youthful coaching setup with the likes of Ramsey and Dunne Im sure they will be wanting to play some expansive rugby and looking to beat Ponte around the edges. Can't see much separating these sides but I think home advantage will be enough to see Ponte take the win.
Ponte -7

Malton & Norton vs Wetherby
Always a tough away day at Malton but im backing Wetherby to take the win.
Wetherby +7

Morley vs Selby
Hopefully Peltier doesn't live far from his home ground, or he's got himself covered with the AA to avoid any mishaps this week.
Morley +7

Had to shoot off straight after the game last Saturday, did Muddy get MOTM for his crucial last minute steal?  ;)

Forty Twenty

Salem v Donny
Donny off to a rocky start- I imagine the brown envelopes are back in full low this week. Salem by plenty

Moortown vs Scarborough
Moortown will be looking to get their W of the season I don't think it'll be this game. High scoring game with Scabs winning by less than 7

Crocs vs Pocklington
After proving me wrong last week im going to back Pock, think it'll be a low scoring affair in the rain though.

Pontefract vs Brods
Fancy the Orcs of Ponte to get them over the line here especially with the weather forecast. Brods are really yet to get firing and think they could be on the back foot here.

Malton & Norton vs Wetherby
I fancy M&N this week at home in the rain. Low scoring- less than 20 points in the game

Morley vs Selby
Match of the week this week- Selby should be confident after their win vs Moortown and Morley will want to get back to winning ways. I'm going to go draw

:) I understand many players are paid across the league. But only ever Salem that gets crappy envelope comments. Change the record

BigBadWolf69

I think the main reason was the brown envelopes, followed by a crowd funder because they couldn't afford to stay at Shay Lane. 🫠

backrowbandit

Salem v Donny
Wet day and postage stamp pitch will probably suit limited Salem so I'll go with them.

Moortown vs Scarborough
Moortown will be back to full strength now whilst Scarborough are already testing the squad limits. Departures to uni and a handful of injuries have been unhelpful.
Very close match

Crocs vs Pocklington
A big test for Pock and their push for the top. Crocs are no mugs but I think Pock will have enough.

Pontefract vs Brods
Home win here.

Malton & Norton vs Wetherby
Who knows, Malton looks very average last week but do better at home. I still think wetherby will be too strong.

Morley vs Selby
Morley by a few.
Loving all rugby but especially at grassroots level.
